I've made two Dire Wolves! Their names are Honey and Earl Grey. They're for sale over here; https://www.palaeoplushies.com/shop/dire-wolf I had great fun picking out the different fabrics for these two, Earl ended up with some really interesting combos that I hadn't planned when I sublimated his parts - I'd intended on making a frosted black and grey wolf but I just CANNOT turn my back on that short honey fabric. I used this really cool offcut for his mane and tail which is a gradient from honey to grey, and then I found this "african wild dog"-esque patchwork for his back. For honey, I ended up using a very old fabric from my stash for her mane and tail, whilst the tipped back fabric was picked up from Vinted as an "end of roll". I love mixing furs of different lengths and textures. I gave them "opposite" colour eyes, because I feel like they contrast this pair really well.

Some thoughts.
ID: A series of drawings on a bright yellow background.
First slide. An intersex person with the circle from the intersex flag on its chest stands in a middle of perisex people with sex symbols on them. Text on top reads "As an intersex person, I often feel like an afterthought. An intersex person looks at a character smiling. Text: "In media too. Where are we? Our stories?". Text: "We are made to feel so rare." The person looks at two characters arguing, one being a doctor. Text: "And we're rarely well portrayed. If ever." A person in a hospital gown sits in front of a doctor. Text: "In most medical environs, we're classified as a..." The doctor says: "Disorder."
Second slide. Two perisex people look at a crowd of intersex people. Text: "When in reality, we're just a sexual variation. There's at least 40 sexual variations but we're labeled as odd. As wrong." Someone holds a scalpel toward an intersex baby sleeping. Text: "Othering us like that gives people the idea that they can 'treat' or 'fix' us. Even without our consent. As babies many of us are 'corrected' with unnecessary surgeries that can even be harmful to us". An intersex teenager looks uneasy as hands are giving them medicine. Text: "As teenagers we're made to feel afraid of our own bodies. We're often given meds and treatments we don't need, just to fit some ideal. We're often lied to. Coerced. We are shamed and even threatened to hide ourselves away."
Third slide. An intersex person shielding another one and looking menacing, as people around are screaming. The first speech bubbles is filled with the two sex symbols, the other is filled with a bible. Text: "So often when I hear people talk about 'kids being groomed/given hormones and surgery too early' and other transphobic bullshit, I seethe for my trans friends. I know this is faux concern. Transphobes don't give a shit about children safety. They just value their own comfort more.

I wish Americans fucked with more foreign music. You don’t have to know the language to appreciate a good record. Folks in other countries listen to our music and don’t speak a lick of english. Music needs no translator
yall wont trick me into listening to kpop
You can try Radiooooo.com - The Musical Time Machine!!
choose a country, pick a decade, and GO!!
you’ll get an endless streaming of songs (ad free!).
I personally found myself loving 1970s Ghana, Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire! Also 1920s and 1970s Japan for sure! Cambodian music: spectacular. Love Armenia and Mali as well. I’ve been told 70s Germany is weird and 30s Algeria is cool but I haven’t gotten around to those yet. Italy’s 1960s is bomb ofc but I’m biased ;)
This is the best website anyone has ever shared.
apologies to anyone who followed me for tma. cow studies :) ❤️
Moving On.

i am so so gently asking abled storytellers to try this little exercise: consider that maybe the main character doesn't miraculously get through traumatic event number 8277 with minor injuries. maybe they don't make a full, narratively-convenient recovery. there are tangible, long-term effects on their health. they are disabled. there are lots of ways to be disabled, and you can pick whatever makes the most sense. the point is that because they're the main character, they have to stay at the heart of the narrative. what happens to your story after that? just for the sake of this exercise, you're not allowed to have them spiral into helpless depression, or collapse under self-loathing, or turn their story into a quest for a cure or an uplifting recovery narrative. think it through instead. how can you tell this story with the character's disability? what needs to change? are there any reasons why these changes can't happen?
at the end of it, you might change nothing. but I think this is worth doing, because sometimes you'll find that the reason you didn't want your character to have a limp, or lose a limb or sense, or have some kind of SFF-appropriate fantasy disability is because of internalised biases. those are worth challenging & i truly believe that creators miss out on richer stories when they view disability either as a fate worse than death or as nothing more than a catalyst for tragedy.
if it doesnt kill you its sure to leave a horrible scar
