The sound of running on crunching leaves disturbs the quiet of a forest on a far off planet. Though the woods look like earth’s they’re not. The soft quiet breath of Cop Rick can be heard. He quickly dive’s and hides behind a tree trying to be as quiet as he can, trying not to get caught.
“Oh Cop.. I can hear you’re breathing.. I know you’re near.”
The voice is strong and unafraid, despite the fact he had just been running too. Not even a slight hitch, or hint of being out of breath. Of course this only scares Cop more. Cop had been trying to track down Rick Prime. He had been told to do so, for a while he was the one doing the following, but Prime caught on. And Cop was now the one being chased.
“Come out and I’ll kill you quickly. I’m sure they have a project phoenix set up for you anyway.. I know who made the Citadel. I know who you really work for. I’m sure you don’t know who, though.”
Cop considered coming out for a moment, Prime was right. They did have a clone back at the Citadel ready for him. ‘What does Prime mean?’ Cop thinks to himself. He worked for the Citadel government, he knew his employer. Growing ever curious, Cop peaks his head out from the tree he’s behind. But Prime isn’t there.. No one is. The silence of the forest grows ever louder.
“There you are.”
Seemingly appearing out of thin air behind Cop is Prime; he is tall and covered in various scars. Cop nearly jumps out of skin. He falls to the ground, trying to crawl away from Prime. Prime only stares down watching the pathetic man struggle. It makes him laugh and soon enough he’s bent over in a fit of laughter.
Cop’s skin crawls, his laughter only making him more unnerved. He freezes, unable to move besides shaking. Prime catches his breath, no longer laughing just staring at Cop. His expression is blank.
“Maybe I’ll keep you.”
Cop stutters over his words, trying to respond to Prime’s threat.
“Like.. Like a pet..?”
Cop trails off in a question, his words unsure. He shook his head, thinking maybe he heard Prime. Prime; stays silent. The blank expression still on his face. Had Cop been making things up? Prime stared like he had nothing at all.
“Like a pet?”
Cop asks again, this time getting a reaction from Prime. His eye twitching slightly, a smile spreading on his face. His sharp yellowed teeth on display. Prime moves to be on his knees, still towering over Cop. The wet leaves soaking into his pants. He moves a hand to be on Cop’s shoulder; Cop flitches but doesn’t resist.
“Yeah.. like a pet. You’re cute, sorta.. skittish though. We can work on that.”
Cop is now the one with a blank expression and for a moment he even stops breathing. Just completely frozen and numb. Prime chuckles, moving a hand up to Cop’s chin. He makes Cop look up at his face. Cop’s expression changes from numb to a pleading look. His face begging to be let go. Prime moves closer to his face, their lips nearly touching.
Even though he’s scared out of his mind, Prime’s warmth feels nice. His body heat warming him up in the cold woods. Whether it was his fear making him not think clearly, or something different entirely; he leaned into Prime. Pressing their lips together.
After a moment Prime leaned back, staring deeply into Cops’s eyes. He smiled, but it was a different smile, not the malicious one he displayed earlier. It was a calm and soft smile.
“I think it’s settled.”
And with that Prime picked Cop, carrying him out of the woods. Finding his portal gun he had hidden a few hours prior. He opens a portal, walking through with Cop in his arms. He sets him down on his bed, wrapping a small blanket around Cop.
Cop, now warming up on Prime’s bed, felt the fear bleeding into his mind once more. The fear made worse by Prime locking the door from the outside, keeping the both of them stuck. Prime strips down, right in front of Cop not even bothering to pretend he has some sense of care. He tenses up as Prime does so, fearing the worst.
Prime notices but continues with what he was doing, he walks over to a dresser, pulling out what looks to be a pair of PJ’s. He changes into them, causing Cop to calm down. Prime moves to be sitting on his bed next to Cop.
“What should I call you.. Cop’s not gonna work.”
Cop shrugs, the exhaustion from running and hiding now hitting him. With little adrenal in his system, he has nothing to keep him up. Curling up in Prime’s bed he drifts off to sleep. Though he was scared, he was tired more than anything else. He could think of a way out if he got rest.
