After 16 years, BIGBANG’s Daesung is parting ways with YG Entertainment.

On December 26, amidst news that Taeyang had signed with THEBLACKLABEL following the expiration of his contract with YG Entertainment, the agency initially stated that they were still discussing the possibility of contract renewals with his bandmates G-Dragon and Daesung.

However, later that same day, YG Entertainment went on to announce, “Daesung has decided to end his contract with us.” They also elaborated, “He’s looking for a fresh start.”

Just like with Taeyang, YG Entertainment emphasized that while Daesung was leaving the agency, he was not leaving BIGBANG.

I feel sincerely grateful for you looking after me all these years and helping me grow into the person I am today. With deep gratitude in my heart, I embark on this new adventure.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. As nervous as I am about taking this bold step forward, I believe it will definitely be worth it in the end.

The year 2023 is approaching. Without an inkling as to what the future holds, I take this step forward into the unknown with only a brave heart.
