I was up until one working on school stuff. I woke up with Ross and saw him off as he left for the interstate to make it to Atlanta by eight. After that, I couldnāt go back to sleep.
Eventually, the blinds started faintly glowing with grey and I heard the very first tweet of the morning from my garden. Cambria Jane stirred in her crib down the hallway and quietly cooed as she slowly woke up with the morning. Nathan tossed and turned; his energetic body was ready to start the day but his eyes were still too heavy. Sophia mumbled to her dreams from across the hall.Ā
My beautiful baby girl always looks at me with the biggest smile. I rocked her and tickled her and fell more in love with every bat of her long lashes.Ā
The dog was awake and I let him out the backdoor before tiptoeing through the house to get to my cigarettes on the front porch. My front door is old and swollen from the humidity of inconsistent Georgia weather. The scars of my fatherās last major breakdown are displayed on my front door frame for all guests to see. No one ever asks about it. I never bring it up. I fantasize about home improvement projects often.
I always associate smoking cigarettes with cold weather. Red danced around my knees in the driveway and we made our way to the backyard as he investigated every pinecone on the way. I took in the beauty of my backyard and surveyed the landscaping. No matter where my eyes fell, I saw another project. Thereās always one more thing to do.Ā
I watched Red explore the creek and imagined Ross and I working on projects for the parties my yard could entertain. I imagined the magnolia tree five years from now, ten years, twenty years- the summers of my childrenās future will be full of optimal tree climbing opportunities. This is exactly where I want to have my family. I took another drag of my cigarette before I heard the sleepy, raspyĀ āMama?ā echo from the front yard.Ā
I realized my toddler had officially figured out door knobs and met him on the side of the house, donned in his best bed head and night time pull-up. He immediately twirled his fingers into my curls and buried his head into my chest as he sucked his thumb. PBS was waiting for us and I gave him a blanket so he could adjust to the new day on his own terms from the couch.Ā
The morning sun made it over the edge of the neighborās roof and flooded my front porch and living room with a golden light just as I looked over at CJ playing in her jumper. It was A Moment.Ā
When Sophia emerged from her room, we shared quiet, sleepy greetings and lingered in a lazy hug. We spent the first part of our morning talking about some hurtful words she said to her brother. It was a calm, but serious conversation. I used the paper example and reminded her of how much the babies look up to and love her and it was exactly what we needed. They each had a bowl of cereal and colored together for a better part of the morning.
When I look back on my days, they usually blend together and seem to go by so fast, but in the moment, there is so much happening all at once.Ā

twin flame v.s soulmate
Iām back with another original most, wow! before I jump in, I just want to make it clear that these labels should not define or confine the relationships we encounter in our lives. at the end of the day, it doesnāt matter what type of soulmate someone is. these labels only exist in the 3d, theyāre a way for our egos to organize and comprehend the experience. so donāt get too obsessed or freaked out over which label fits your connection!Ā ššš
the main difference lies within the purpose of each connection.
our twin flame will come into our lives to be a catalyst for change and personal growth. they show up where weāre truly ready to step into our power but have been hesitating or holding back. theyāre the push that forces us to uplevel our lives and become the person weāre meant to be. the twin flame connection is much more than a love connection! in some cases, our twin flame might not even be a love interest. a twin flame can be a friend, a sibling, or even a rival.Ā
our soulmate comes into our lives to provide us with an external source of unconditional love and divine harmony. before we meet this person we usually have to have a strong sense of internal love before we can be a vibrational match for them. theyāre our perfect vibrational match! everything feels light, airy, joyful, and peaceful when weāre around them. itās less shocking than the twin flameĀ energy. spiritually, our soulmates serve the purpose of raising our vibration and being the person we can be most authentic around.Ā
how can you tell the difference?Ā
the soulmate meeting will likely feel easy, free, and effortless. the twin flameĀ meeting will likely be unexpected, tumultuous, and intense. twin flames usually come into our life when weāre unprepared while soulmates come in at theĀ āperfectā time when our vibration is hight.Ā
your twin flame will likely be very similar to you but opposing at the same time. your soulmate will feel like they justĀ āfitā.Ā
thereās usually something keeping twin flamesĀ āapartā. in reality, we are all connected and never truly separated but twin flames tend to have barriers. either distance, age, religion, or third parties interfere during the relationship. this is a way of the universeĀ ātestingā the relationship to see if both souls are willing.Ā
your life will be completely uprooted during a twin flame connection.Ā
which one is better?Ā
- thereās a lot of stigma in the spiritual community that insinuates the idea of twin flames being more desirable than soulmates. I haaaattteĀ this haha. both are incredibly important and valid connections! we decide, before incarnating, what we want to experience and we choose our relationships for a reason. every single connection we make is just as important than the last. not everyone is meant to have a twin flame. not everyone is meant to have a soulmate! and thatās perfectly okay!Ā ššĀ
alright loves, thatās all I have for you! Iād love to hear your experience with these two relationships!Ā ššš
iām a firm believer that happiness makes people prettier. itās a noticeable glow.

im so sad when it ends everytime. i want more

Donāt let people make fun of you for liking japanese culture.
I am living in japan right now and let me tell ya:
There are people here who canāt speak or understand English who play nothing but Missy elliot and ludacris, even in businesses like housing offices and restaurants.
There are people who have cowboy hats and dead cow skulls in their home because they idolize what they assume American homes are like.
There are people who learn English strictly through music videos and American television shows.
There are entire karaoke bars with english songs often sung by people who have no idea what the lyrics mean.
Japan often takes American shows like the powerpuff girls and make japanese versions of them.
They often mistake common Americans for celebrities. I have been mistaken for Micheal jordan, tiger woods, Shaquille o'neal, Tyler perry, and saddest of all: queen latifa.
The act of sprinkling English into your japanese sentences is considered cute and cool and is popular with teenagers. Bonus points if you happen to use it correctly.
Japanese stores sell shirts with english on them and people buy them not knowing that most of those word combinations are nonsense.
Donāt let someone shame you for singing an anime opening, using japanese in your sentences, wearing clothing with japanese on it, ect. If anything, this is just one more thing that you have in common with them.
The American/Japanese cultural exchange is so pure and wonderful and I love it so much
OK BUT RESONATE WITH THE SHIRT THING THOUGH
My Chinese relatives buy me shirts from China with English letters on them hoping I think itās cool
I have a shirt that says āHi Quality Ualityā
Itās amazing
It happens alot.
And then whatās really great is Americans getting tattoos of Chinese characters thinking they mean one thing when they really donāt
Also a topic where the reverse happens.
lemme tell you..i have been in a grocery store in Japan and heard the unedited Get Low playin over the intercom..it was literally a Katt Williams moment
Oh, unsensored songs are pretty common.
I should not be hearing an unsensored āMagic Stickā playing at a family restaurant.
And the best thing is when literally no one shows that they understand what is being said.
I was in a Chinese cafe one time and they had obviously put on their āfuck youā playlist. I mean, uncensored versions of Fuck You by Lilly Allen, Fuck You by Cee-lo Green, etc. No one else had any idea.
Oh, also, I got my favorite shirt ever in a little tchotchky store in Sichuan:
that last one got me holy shit.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā i wish i had
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā never met you
Ā Ā Ā TOUCHĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā MYĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā BUTT
then there would be mo need to imprese you
Ā o need to want you.No naed for. loring you
Ā Ā No need tar crying over you.Noneed for
Ā heartbreaks.No nead for paln oru tears.No
Ā Ā neard for forgoure promises .nead for
For every american teenager that is screaming the lyrics to their favorite anime opening, thereās likely at least 1 or 2 Japanese teens singing English profanities at a karaoke bar.
Iāve been laughing at the t-shirts for ten minutes
The witches have come to lay their claim.

hot take: moms need to learn how to listen to and comfort their daughters without making everything about their own traumas
a classic example
daughter: hey this thing you do bothers me very much and i wish you wouldnāt do it
mom: well my parents abused me and im not even as bad as they were and i had to sit through it so you gotta sit through whatever i do to you too
a common variant
mom: well iām having a really hard time right now and you know that iām doing my best and that i didnāt mean to hurt you ergo you are in fact the asshole for asking me to consider your feelings and change my behavior during this hard hard time iām having
least favorite
mom: fine. youāre right and iām wrong and iām a horrible person. there. are you happy now?
see also
mom: you canāt be mad at me. youāre not allowed to be mad at me. i canāt stand it.
