Is this a safe space to say yaoi discourse is ridiculous and even if people were fetishizing yaoi why is that such a big deal?
Genuinely you guys will say not to judge fetish/kink unless it is harming people but a lot of your arguments break when someone mentions yaoi
unless a fujoshi is letting a fetish influence their actions towards real people it does not matter.
And a lot of yaoi discourse also comes with lots of transphobia and misogyny. if yaoi helped someone discover their gender hell yeah good for them! But a lot of people are just fast to discredit trans men when they have any input in topics like these
that said obviously yaoi as a genre has hella faults and that’s important to keep in mind, misogyny is super prevelant in yaoi fandoms and spaces
But a lot of you just have weird ass views on fetishes
And if i said yaoi was hugely influential in queer literature and omegaverse has made its way as a integral part of modern queer literature would you call me crazy
I am shouting into the void here but it was frustrating me seeing how people look at fetishes and I had to clear my mind
