just thinking about the parallels in phoebe waller bridges writing and how she lets her characters be developed and known by the audience before they do something risky or unlikeable that could define their character if she had not properly developed them otherwise. like think about fleabag and how it wasn’t until the end of the first season that you found out her secret but since at that point you know fleabag, you were able to not even necessarily forgive her, but understand why she did it. she wrote villanelle the same way. she lets you get to know villanelle and understand her before she kills bill in episode 3. and if villanelle had done that earlier on you would have immediately not liked her, but that way phoebe wrote her and gave her time to be known by the audience makes those acts that could be deemed as unlikeable okay. you know the character and while you might not agree with their actions, you understand the why behind it and THAT is why phoebe waller bridge deserves all of her emmys goodnight
phoebe waller-bridge's creations have 20 nominations total in this year's emmy awards... the POWER she has!

Just some parallels that were found in both Killing Eve and Fleabag! Very interesting! Took some time but hope you guys enjoy it!

~ her first love
I made this compilation of Villanelle speaking different languages and switching accents. Languages/accents included are:
German
Russian
Italian
French
Spanish
Mandarin
Scottish
British
American
Australian
So i previously posted about the religious imagery in episode one relative to Villanelle and a small analysis, I’m gonna do ep 2 as well.
Villanelle - It was pretty damn blatant in this ep. Once again Angels were referred to her and she likened it to herself. Name wise - ‘Saint’ Julian was the patron of Travellers (hotel keepers & boatmen as well but irrelevant). He also killed his own parents (by accident) but received penance for housing and helping a leper. Lots of parallels to helping sick and injured Villanelle and asking for something in return. Anyway glad she killed him - in a way she did another ‘good’ killing - ridding the world of that scum and ‘freeing’ the mother (not REALLY good, but from V’s POV..) They are very much pushing her being likened to an angel (fallen/of death).
Eve - So i didn’t comment on each in my previous post much about Eve coz I only saw the obvious Eve + Apple but i realised in this episode there is quite a few things with Eve. Specifically the fact that (as we all know) shes getting tempted by Villanelle to turn dark and give in to ‘sin’.
Lust - well der, Villanelle is the peak of her sexual awakening.
Greed - this is a big one; the dress and the windows. Very, very unlike Eve to blow money on superficial stuff.
Gluttony - Could tie in with the above, but the excess food, the lollies at the train station.
Pride - She is very proud of her skills of investigation and proud of Villanelle. Bragging about V’s skills.
Wrath - She hasn’t show much of wrath yet, except at the kid with the lollies and later in the show (seen in trailers) she screams and yells in frustration.
Envy - I feel like we will be seeing a lot of jealous Eve (and V) with this new assassin. Also, her jealousy of Carolyn always looking good.
Sloth - Not sure bout this one yet.
Anyway they are really pushing symbolism this series, and i’m loving analysing it. I think Eve’s descent is gonna lead her to killing someone, probably to protect Villanelle.
End note - i find it interesting that V used the toilet brush for this kills “love letter” to Eve given Eve brandished it in self defence and V killed Julian in self defence.
Do you have any cake? Villanelle in Killing Eve - Nice and Neat (season 2 episode 2)

Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body?
It’s the same energy and no one can convince me otherwise.
The religious imagery relative to Villanelle in ep 1 was an interesting and unexpected thing.
The focus on angels in particular - ‘Gabriel’ being the kids name for starters; the wife of the dying man calling her an Angel; the 'mercy’ kill and specifically the fact that she was framed to be looking down upon his body with a low camera angle to make her loom was an interesting choice. Then of course her finding and fixating on the Apple in that shot. Obviously the connection of Eve and the forbidden fruit - especially given all the reference images with that Apple.
I feel like Villanelle is going to have a “good” complex this season. As in.. She will see what shes doing as being “good” (the mercy kill, telling the wife her husband is getting better) but her definition of good is so warped… which will be the 'Eve rubbing off on her’ sense. But of course… lucifer is a fallen angel so if they are using religious metaphor then we know which angel she is 😏 the one that tempts Eve to the dark side.
Anyway thats just my quick notice of that imagery in ep 1.
The first step into real darkness is to mess with kids and candy/ice-cream, not stabbing your wannabe girlfriend I will only do fanarts for the new season from scenes that were in promos, like this, and you can bet it didn’t end this way in the actual episode…or my usual dumb stuff what will never happen either
