I watched this for 30 seconds waiting for some picture to load and then realised and thought “wow that’s accurate”

Where did all the musicblr people go? Did I unfollow too many users who would spread misinformation on my dash or is it just really this dead? What is going on?

A lot of people have just… stopped using this site for one reason or another

my question is where they all flocked to, if they did go elsewhere

One thing that irritates me as a musician are the other kids that play ~uncommon~ instruments like oboe or bassoon or like other forms of saxophones and clarinets, and they think they’re such amazing players because they play a “unique” instrument but rlly they’re just average (or sometimes even poor) players with overinflated egos because of all the praise they get for their ~uncommon~ instruments and because they don’t have as much competition in their band

Plus plus some kids who play regular instruments could be absolutely incredible if they were given the chance to play an unusual instrument but most times they don’t have the resources/money to do so!!! Like there are so many kids who could sound amazing on a more unusual instrument but they can’t afford the instrument or the lessons!! And yet there are priveledged kids who get their ~unique~ instruments practically handed to them and they get unnecessary praise and think it’s okay to be a massive dick to people who play “common” instruments

you know they arent talking about ALL people who play uncommon instruments? they're talking about just the arrogant people who play because they think it'll make them superior to everyone else. clearly you aren't someone like that so adding this wasn't relevant
