Team fundraising page for Team Nick
If you have the time, I would really appreciate it if you could just take a look at this.
Three weeks ago, I lost my 21 year old brother, Nick, to suicide. He simply could not stand to live on this earth any longer. No one saw it coming, and that is what hurts the most. We knew that he struggled with depression, that he had been taking medication. However, we were under the impression that he was improving, and in a better state of mind. We were wrong, terribly wrong.
As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety myself, and someone who takes medication for it, my heart breaks for my brother. I can only imagine the terrible pain he must have endured for so long. To know that his pain was greater than the pain he left me with, it crushes me. But I’ve decided to turn this pain into productivity.
If you are suffering, if you are depressed and thinking of ending it, this is your sign. DO NOT. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It will always get better by the end; if it isn’t better, it’s not the end. Please, please don’t. The people around you love you, and trust me, they want you here. They want you on this earth because you are important and you matter.
In October, I will be participating in a Walk Out of Darkness to raise awareness and advocate suicide prevention. I will be walking with my family and the rest of Team Nick. If you are financially able, a small donation or even just a reblog would be so greatly appreciated. You can register and donate by clicking on the Team Nick link above.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this, it honestly means a lot to me.
