There’s a species of solitary mason bees that make these pretty little nests for their larvae out of flower petals.

At 1st i thought patels would be too frail to hold a larvae but after a bit of research i found out that the nest is made of mud sandwiched between layers of petals. Only 2 species of solitary bees are known to do this. Osmia tergestensis and Osmia avosetta. Two other species do something similar; an even mixture of mud and petals….but it doesn’t look as cool as this.
