emma and scott’s relationship started with scott cheating on jean with emma. everyone loved scott and jean, they had very sweet and enduring relationship. enter hot, blonde, rich emma! villainy points: 1. 

emma is very over-sexualized compared to the rest of the characters. this stirs the idea that she’s just an evil whore whose out to seduce and manipulate to get her way. compare this to jean, who marvel loves to pit emma against, who is always fully clothed and it often shown wearing very cute, retro outfits. villainy points: 2. 

emma is rich. and mean. it often seems like she attacks the sweeter female characters (i.e. kitty, jean, etc) without provocation. this gives her that “rich bitch” trope. villainy points: 3. 

emma has never had a set moral compass. she exists between being a hero and an anti-hero. this is often used against her, like in IVX, whereas other characters (like wolverine, magneto) are loved for those qualities. they make those characters “edgy” while marvel writes emma as being self-centered. villainy points: 4.
