So I'm planning to make a post about the issues with deal between Rosie and Alastor.
And while I do have issues with it I would like to know what are everyone's else's issues.
So what are your issues with it?
My issue with it is how it completely ruined Rosie and Alastor's character in the process.
The Rosie in Season 2 is NOTHING like the Rosie in Season 1, this is a completely different character from what we've seen of her before. And to make this worse, there was ZERO hint, foreshadowing, or indication that Rosie owning his soul was a possibility. And I'm not saying she CAN'T be racist or this way, but there was nothing in the previous season to foreshadow this side of her.
Oh and Alastor... This just proves how all over the place his writing is. His backstory doesn't make all that sense and ignores how harsh it was to be a POC in those times just for it to happen. It just shows a lack of research and respect for the time period he came from, and the deal he made just makes him look weak. why couldn't it have been a deal to become a radio show host? Or to get revenge on those that looked down on him because of his race? Just SOMETHING that shows how harsh the time period was.
And that isn't even going into how blatantly racist this dynamic is written to be along with the song Don't You Forget.
If Jax were a VivziePop character but was otherwise written the exact same way you would fucking hate him and devote a million blog posts to why he's the worst fucking character in the entire history of fiction, which he would be if Stolas and Valentino didn't exist.
Goose is a fucking godawful writer and a godawful person, just as much as Viv. Just because she isn't Viv doesn't absolve her of all criticism.
Well that's where you're missing the whole structural narrative aspect to the show. Yes, if the show was written by Vivziepop and so was structured around a Vivziepop style plot and beats, Jax would have been an unapologetic, irredeemable jackass because the stories are fundamentally nowhere near the same structurally.
You're comparing a fig to a sweet potato.
Yes, 100%.
It sometimes feel like the hatred people have for Jax is taken a bit too far to where it clouds their judgement and prevents them from seeing beyond the surface.
people always wanna say that âOh Jax is coddled and woobified by the narrative! He never faces consequences for his actions!â To which I say â⌠Where?â
I feel like if he WAS being coddled and woobified, it wouldâve been more obvious. If that was the case, we wouldâve been learning more about him instead of getting the lore we got in Episode 7 and 8. If that was the case, HE would be the one calling and making all the shots instead of Pomni or any of the other characters.
None of his actions should be excused of course, but the show CLEARLY doesnât absolve him and itâs treated more like you said. A cautionary tale of what happens when you donât open up about what youâre feeling and push everyone away. Iâm not gonna say anything that might spoil the final episode, but that is what theyâre going for.
And as for him not facing consequences? He does. Everyone (Besides Caine) hates him, he gets left alone. And itâs been established that the circus is a place where little to no consequences exists, and whenever someone DOES try to bring up a problem with Caine (shown in the Haunted House episode), he just doesnât listen or ignores them. So even if they do complain to him about Jax, what could he really do to punish him?
There are CLEARLY layers to Jaxâs personality. Itâs not black and white or like how itâs done in previous shows. And thatâs the hill Iâm willing to die on.
Since Vaggie is salvadorian again im interested to see if Carmilla will still be hispanic too in her redesign (is theorized that Carmilla is from Spain due...ugh, the stereotypical guitar playing wheneever she appears).
Ironically enough if Viv wanted Carmilla to be spanish and a dancer she could have made her a Sevillan, but that would require to do actual research and she is allergic to that, so...
-Ableism Anon
Funny you ask this. Because here's how I redesigned Carmilla and rewrote her.
Katia Dynes
Her design is trash, Iâm sorry. But I hate the earrings that arenât attached to anything, how her hair is designed and her yaoi hands.
So I decided to give her design an overhaul by making her a phoenix and lean more into the ballet motif.
Sheâs been changed from being Hispanic/latina to being Russian. As a way of exploring more cultures.
Became blind as part of her punishment for the sins sheâs committed, leaving her unable to see her surroundings when performing.
Uses her feathers and flames as a way to dance again, letting their heat and airflow guide her in her performances.
Runs the ballet section of the Pride Theater, offering dance lessons to those wanting to learn from her personally.
Took in two sisters as her daughters that were as broken as she was, empathizing with their pain as she helped them get the help they needed.
Is a mentor figure for Vaggie and trains her on how to fight despite her disabilities.
Personal Life
Was once a rising star in the ballet world of her time period (The 1800s), but would often get jealous of other girls that got the part she wanted and being casted as their understudy.
So as a way of getting the part, she would sabotage the other girls by causing an "accident" to occur that would put them out of commission or give up ballet entirely. Causing her to take their place and play the part she wanted.
She was so deep into her passion for ballet, she never had time to settle down, start a family, or have friends.
One day, one of the ballet dancers caught her trying to sabotage another dancer and confronted her about it. The dancer threatened to expose her if she didn't step down and turn herself in.
This caused a fight to break out, knocking down the lights and starting a fire. Carmille died in that very fire, the incident being named "The Phoenix's Ashes."
Holds deep regret for how bitter she turned out to be and wishes she could do it all over again, and resolve to teaching others to not let envy and jealousy consume you.
I donât wanna be a dick to Chazâs VA because he seems like a nice person but heâs so desperate for attention that he keeps posting about the new short and even making shitty choreography with spindle marketing and merch team, like dude stop no one cares and we all hate Chaz. This is probably the worst thing to come out of Helluva since season 2 episode 1. The short hit 1mil in 4 days when typically I wouldâve took a short less than 10 hours to hit 1mil
It's a beautiful thing to see both the fandom and critical community coming to an agreement that another "short" featuring Chaz was never gonna be good.
Why do they wanna give Chaz so much attention anyway? It's not like he was a beloved character to begin with. Honestly the short deserves it, that's what you get when it becomes clear that you're clearly favoring your male characters over your female characters.

I think itâs really funny how Eric and vivienne went to a hazbin cosplay themed party yesterday and Eric made it all about shark boy summer and Chaz. Iâm sorry the music video wasnât a hit like look my way or addicted were.
The way they keep trying to hype up this stupid music video up I swear, but I guess it make sense considering how they blew their resources and time on it.
But seriously, a part of me feels bad for the cosplayers looking to have a good time at the party. Only for these two to come in and make it all about them.
Vaggie is a badly written character
You know that trope where the hero kills brutally the villains henchmen without regret but from some reason decides to spare the villain, well that's basically what happened in the season 1 finale of HH when Vaggie spared Lute EVEN though she had no problem with killing her fellow exorcists.
People say that she didn't killed Lute because of her character development BUT if that's the case then why did she kill other exorcists?
I mean in season 2 we get a flashback of Lute and Adam mistreating Vaggie and another girl and it seems implied that they were generally like that towards most of the exorcists.
So that means that Vaggie was perfectly fine with killing women that could have been ABUSED the same way she was.
While I believe that even when the writers do review of the script and try to fix mistakes, there can be plot holes, USUALLY, they aren't so obvious to the viewer.
I can get wanting to spare Adam if it was treated more like a diplomatic move to try and salvage Hell's relationship with Heaven.
But there is NO excuse for why Lute should be spared. If she kills a major character in a later season, their blood WILL be on Vaggie's hands.
Hazbin Hotel Rewrite Snippet
Ever since his arrival in Hell, Vox has always felt at war with himself. Mainly when it comes to his relationships with Alastor and Valentino.
The way Alastor acts pisses him off for some reason, acting like they had history together when it was always HIM that instigates squabbles between them. And itâs not like they knew each other when alive since they died in different time periods. But⌠why canât he shake this feeling that he always knew him? And that Alastor knows but is too much of a dick to outright tell him?
And Val? While he was grateful for Val accepting his partnership and forming the Vees, he gets tired of having to walk on eggshells around Val on his bad days. Velvette is always too busy (doesnât care) to help come to a middle ground, and things always calm down after a night of passionate sex. But how come it feels like Val and Vel are hiding something from him? Did he do something wrong?
Why canât he remember?
Answering asks lightning round.
Just something to help clear my ask box and answer some questions that's been collecting dust.
Also I wanna apologize for taking so long to answer these, better now than never I suppose.
The thing about Charlie is that the writers and voice actor donât understand is that her goal to get sinners into heaven isnât out of selfless or altruism. Iâve heard the writers and VA say that if Charlie succeeds in her goal that sheâs end up all alone in hell. When we just saw in season 1 and 2 that she can actually visit heaven anytime she wants, has Emily who can send letters to hell and heaven, has two scientists they can just voicecall people from heaven. AND we see Charlie go to heaven, because serĂĄ gave her a pas to visit or whatever and Charlie got hangout with Emily and go to a zoo, so sheâs not alone, now is she?
Charlie is redeeming sinners for herself and because she wants to make mommy proud. Charlie does hurt people not because she cares about them but because she wants to use sinners to make herself look good. In episode 3 season 2. She is told by Angel that Vox is bad news and not to trust them, she doesnât listen and hurts Angel but whatâs funny is that Angel learns a lesson, not Charlie. Angel learns that he canât trust Charlieâs sorry because she hurt him once, now she did it again. So her saying âsorryâ means nothing to her. So he doesnât accept her apology this time. She didnât even care that Angel is gone by the end of the season except âweâre still sad heâs gone but life still goes on and things are great for me and my hotelâ instead of trying to be a good person and redeem sinners she instead wastes a season trying to show/tell Vox sheâs a good person.
In season 1 Charlie says her âthis kingdom meant so much to my momâ and sheâs continuing her moms dream. What was Lilith dream? We have no fucking clue because the writers canât make up their minds on whether or not heaven is bad or good. One second Charlie will say lilith used her song to empower Hell, the next sheâs saying her mom was peacefully protesting against heaven and as far as we know, something happened between Lilith and heaven that caused the exterminations, and Lilith disappeared, but also that Lucifer was the one to sign off on the extermination or doesnât do jack shit to save sinners because he doesnât like them.
Charlie also learns that her girlfriend is an Angel and killed sinners but doesnât matter to Charlie because what matter to Charlie is that Vaggie lied to her. Vaggie gets a backbone this season because she calls Charlie out for fucking everything up and Charlie has n epiphany off screen that she is the problem but the. Immediately starts crying and blames mommy for leaving and says âI push people away/people always leave meâ when this isnât about you, this about redeeming sinners, and youâre making it all about you. Vaggie doesnât listen and instead tells Charlie âletâs scissorâ and whatever emotional hang ups and baggage they need to sort and talk about gets ignored, again. So Charlie repeating the same pattern in season 3 should be a breaking point for Vaggie but we know thereâs no way theyâre gonna break up the only lesbian couple, and Vaggie has no character outside of babysitting and coddling Charlie.
It's like they took away the parts that originally made Charlie an endearing protagonist and gave them to Lilith instead. So it all just makes Charlie look performative and only using the hotel as a means to an end to get her mom to come back.
And because of that decision, that left Vivzie and the writers with no clue on what to actually do with her outside her family drama. So that just leaves Charlie being a stagnant character that doesn't learn her lesson or grow as a result.
And the other characters around her don't really do anything to help her grow either as they're too busy either taking advantage of her, or just get on her without actually explaining what she did wrong and get her to understand why it's bad. And keeping in mind that Charlie isn't exactly human like most of the cast and wouldn't have the same experiences, it makes the "found family" dynamic of the cast not all that genuine.
How can the protagonist grow and develop as a character if she never really learns anything? How can the protagonist grow and develop as a character if the people around her that're supposed to be her friends don't really help her?
And most importantly, how can the protagonist grow and develop as a character if the crucial parts of her arc were written out and not replaced, thus leaving only a hollow version of who she is?

You know what? This is a wild thing to say, but I think Alastor unironically is more honest with Charlie than Vaggie. Alastor is a shady prick donât get me wrong, but like one of the few redeeming qualities he does have is he is kind of honest and keeps his end of deals. Like he does keep his deal with Charlie - she didnât hurt anyone and he just wanted a favor. Meanwhile Vaggie, while I understand why she did what she did, lied to Charlie for the first three years of their relationship and probably wouldâve kept the secret up going longer if she wasnât exposed by Adam and Lute. I donât get why they played it off as humorous on Charlieâs end, she shouldâve been angrier about the closest person she had lying to her and partaking in the genocide of her people. And Charlie tells Vaggie everything! Sheâs not a perfect partner but she is a totally trusting and sweet partner who trusts and loves Vaggie.
Vaggie keeps Charlie in the dark about stuff and she still does it in season 2 when she sends Lucifer to the rally behind Charlieâs back. Like Charlie was being a bonehead in season 2 but that was still insanely stupid of Vaggie especially since Lucifer canât harm sinners. I know they make up and stuff but like by that point it was too little too late. And Vaggie saw Lucifer in the might of Lilith and didnât say anything to Charlie!!! Like wth?
And this leads me to my biggest grip with Chaggie as a whole: Charlie is always portrayed as the flawed one in the relationship and NEVER Vaggie. Charlie needs to forgive Vaggie for lying to her in season 1, Charlie needs to listen to Vaggie, Charlie is always portrayed as doing something wrong and Vaggie is always portrayed as being vindicated and right in the end.
And whatâs even more annoying is this fandom puts Chaggie on such a pedestal as this wholesome healthy couple and you arenât allowed to criticize Chaggie without being accused of being lesbophobic or misogynistic and itâs really annoying.
I don't have anything to add, you've hit the nail exactly on the mark.
Happy Pride Month.
Bro I'm so tired...
It's official. The writers and Vivzie hate Charlie.
I think itâs sad to say that the Pride merch drop last year was significantly better then this years. Say what you will about Morgana but when she was in charge of the merch drops, she ran a tight shift, quality was good (except stylish occult) and she had good communications with her artist and distributors.
I personally like Morgana. Sheâs very passionate and creative. I just donât like the person she becomes when sheâs around viv, but after leaving her position at spindle and hanging around less with viv. Shes mellowed out and is focusing on her passions and career. I love that for her
Well good for her on getting out when she can, while she did had her bad moments, at least now she can be recognized for her own work even though the Helluverse stuff is gonna overshadow it for a while.
And yeah the merch for this year's pride month is what you would expect. The pins especially look cheaper now.
Like on paper, the shorts should've been a decent way to explore the other characters since the main show is too busy being the Stolas Show. We could've gotten shorts about how Fizz and Ozzie meet and fell in love, we could've gotten a look at how Blitz and Verosika dated and how they broke up, we could've had a Loona centric short or even a Stella or Octavia Short.
But no, instead we got unfunny penguin slurs, we got unfunny gay Bigfoot, we got unfunny Chaz music video.
I think at this point, people just want the new season to come out already so we don't have to deal with how bad the shorts have gotten.

Season 3 just retroactively ruins Easy if theyâre just gonna reset Charlie into a brain dead moron, who never learns her lesson or grows up. Charlie is a full grown woman, who is thousands of years old, but is so infantilized because the writing is misogynistic.
However it also makes Vaggie look like a bigger fool because instead of talking and helping her Charlie work through her mommy issues during Easy, she just tells her to shut up and scissor their problems away only for those unsaid problems to comeback and bite in her in the ass. If Vaggie actually breaks up with Charlie and realizes she deserves better but still remains friends then Iâll give credit for having a good message about leaving a toxic relationship.
Yeah! That too! And if you want another character that'll look like a fool alongside her, it's confirmed that Husk will realize how different his deal is from Angel's. Thus making the tender moment and Loser Baby in Season 1 moot and meaningless.
But back to Charlie and Vaggie, we know for a fact that they're never breaking up as breaking up the main sapphic couple would spark an angry outroar. And Vaggie is clearly too devoted to do something like that.
So uh, Erika Henningsen has talked about what Charlie is gonna be like in season 3, and it seems like its just going to be more of the same shit we got in season 2
I cant send a link so just look up Cartoon Base on twitter
I assume this is what you're talking about?
But oh my GOD can they stop making Charlie this insufferable brat who doesn't learn from her mistakes and write her as an actual character? Writing her this way only proves that the hotel really was a means to an end as now that her mother is coming back, she'll prioritize being with her over everything else.
And didn't she learn to not tunnel-vision and overlook her friends and family? It literally makes zero sense to write her this way.
