If you can eat and drink, sleep in a bed, read these words, and have a bank account—you have the power to help. Don’t stay silent. Do something for Gaza today.
Bisan says that among all the aid organisations working in North Gaza right now, Ele Elna Elak is one of the most effective, geared towards resolving the water scarcity and making clean water and vegetables available to Gazans.
Rafah Crossing opened for medical evacuation this past Monday for the first time since May 2024. In the 24 hours preceding the opening, Israel killed 30 Palestinians in air strikes. At time of writing, another wave of air strikes has killed at least 23 people since dawn today. Israel has violated the "ceasefire" agreement 1,520 times, continuing to critically injure and permanently disable hundreds of people.
Gaza Ministry of Health estimates that 20,000 people urgently need to evacuate Gaza to seek medical care, but Israel states they'll only let 50 Palestinians through Rafah each day. In practice restrictions are even worse: Israel only approved travel for 5 patients on the first day and 16 on the second.
Injured Palestinians protested near Al-Amal Hospital in the south of the Gaza Strip, demanding an increase in the number of people allowed to travel daily. One of the protestors, Farid al-Qassas, explained to a UN News correspondent:
“We have been waiting for the crossing to open since the beginning of the war, and like many others, we have not been lucky. In this building alone, there are about 100 patients in need of medical referrals, and the number of wounded waiting to travel reaches about 13,000 patients and injured people. We hope that everyone will hear us and save what remains of these patients.”
There are over 4,000 children who need access to medical evacuation. My friend Ahmed (@ahmedaldani333) is one of those children. He and his brother are both disabled, and both desperately need access to healthcare at an adequately staffed and resourced hospital.
Even if the line wasn't thousands long, he has not even been able to raise enough funds to start the process. Instead, his gofundme (verified on the @gazavetters list, #198) has only raised enough for his family to purchase some food and medicine.
Even that isn't consistent, though. They often go without enough food, and his whole family was continuously sick for weeks this winter without access to medication.
Please donate what you can so he and his brother can survive and get needed healthcare!
Please, friends, help us. I am very sad and exhausted right now because my brother is sick and cannot afford his medicine. His health is deteriorating every moment, and he is constantly in pain and crying. I am also sick from hunger, the cold, and the rain that leaks into our tent. Please help us and donate so we can buy medicine for my sick brother, buy food to feed ourselves, and repair our tent. Please donate and don't ignore us. Please donate.
Hello, I'm Ahmed, 23 years old. I was studying computer science at the Islamic University in Gaza before the war. I aspired to build a brigh
Hello friends, I'm Ahmed from Gaza. The war is over now, but our pain and suffering haven't. I studied computer science at the Islamic University of Gaza. During the war, I lost everything: my home, my job, my car, and my tablet. I'm now homeless and without shelter. Despite all that, I tried my best to finish my university studies during the war and take my exams under difficult circumstances, under bombardment. Now I'm about to finish. I need your help to complete my studies abroad and cover the travel expenses. Therefore, I need your support and assistance to achieve my dreams and ambitions. If you can't donate, you can share this post and talk about me and my dreams.

im sorry prev i know you probably left this in the tags specifically to avoid an argument but this is real as fuck.
there can be nuance in discussions of troop actions in militaries (especially the united states military) especially considering how coercive they can be in getting you to enlist, however im too tired to go in on that right now
There’s news isarel will open the rafah crossing border for people to travel but they’re putting 5 checkpoints plus they will not allow to any baby born outside Gaza Strip like my nephew to go back 💔
For now they are saying they will allow to injured people to go out and i’m sure for normal people they must pay fees like i did 5000$
I didn’t sleep at night because of overthinking about my brother and his kid he’s one year old and his dad still away from him and now we can’t go because my nephew not allowed to inter gaza and we don’t have the money to get my brother traveling out 💔
I’m really sad . I will try my best to make sure my brother reunite with his wife $ his kid .
If you care enough and want to help him donate here
If you can eat and drink, sleep in a bed, read these words, and have a bank account—you have the power to help. Don’t stay silent. Do something for Gaza today.
The majority of trucks entering Gaza right now are commercial, not aid trucks— which means supplies are being bought, not donated. Cash is urgently needed to keep these deliveries going. Please consider supporting grassroots organizations in Gaza with a donation, especially on a recurring basis.
There has been catastrophic drop in Gaza donations after the ceasefire was announced according to several Gaza fundraisers and mutual aid networks. Don't stop giving!
Despite a modest increase in humanitarian assistance, the situation in Gaza remains “dire”, with children among the hardest hit by shortages
Children remain among the hardest hit. According to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the war has erased years of educational progress.
“Almost two and a half years of attacks on Gaza’s schooling have left an entire generation at risk,” UNICEF spokesperson James Elder said.
About 60 per cent of school-aged children have no access to in-person learning, and more than 90 per cent of schools have been damaged or destroyed.
Mr. Elder also stressed the urgent need to reopen the Rafah border crossing, calling it a “lifeline” for medical evacuations, family reunification and essential services.
He said families across Gaza remain “desperate” for the crossing to reopen, warning that prolonged closures are compounding humanitarian suffering.
(my emphasis)
My friend Wesal (@shahdgazza) has six children, most of whom are underage. Their education has been severely disrupted. Her youngest son Shawqi loves to learn and he was finally able to go back to school recently.
Please keep supporting this family, so they may continue their education and we can keep Shawqi's sister Farah, who has kidney problems and autism, happy and healthy.

It's been a week since the GRRM interview and the reddit asoiaf dudebros are still coping about the Sansa news...
Exhibit A of why I can't stand Sansa stans -
This guy writes an incredibly sexist post complaining about GRRM's sexism. This person wants Arya to suffer because she deserves it... Why? I have no idea but maybe because Arya is basically apparently a 'Boy'/'Man'.
The fact that posts like this are upvoted on asoiaf reddit tells us all we need to know about why dudebros dislike characters like Arya and Dany - they don't fit into medieval traditional gender roles. They should suffer for stepping outside their boundaries and wanting more.
If there was a book set in a time period before women had voting rights and there was a suffragette chaining herself to railings to protest, Sansa stans are the type who would describe the character as basically being a man on a masculine journey because she wants to do what the men want to do. I am not joking here. They would say it and they would be dead serious about it.
There is so much intrigue and politics in the Arya chapters but they are not interested in reading all that. They just stuff Arya into the cliche one dimensional 'tomboy' and then think Sansa has the political story - this despite GRRM implying that Sansa doesn't have any major political role at the end.
Arya is a little girl who is also trying to learn and survive within existing power structures but these folks seem to think that Arya has superpowers because she's a 'tomboy'?
The sexism and racism - yes, racism - from the Sansa stans, are one reason for why I just can't stand their performative faux feminism and self righteous essays about how others are lording it over them because of GRRM's recent interview and how we apparently can't read unlike Shakespeare over there writing essays on how Jon, Dany and Tyrion's stories are all about Sansa becoming a leader.

I do wonder if George meant Sansa literally dies or that "Sansa" dies and she chooses to remain Alayne Stone 🤔. Her being Lady of the Vale is certainly on the table, but with him originally planning to kill her off, it makes me wonder what his plans for the Vale are (were?). Namely, if he plans to have Sweetrobin survive. I've always thought he would live and this kinda strengthens that theory. I highly doubt Littlefinger will survive the series, so that leaves the fate of the Vale a bit in the air. Sweetrobin is both the likeliest and unlikeliest option for the Vale's eventual leader. Either way, this bit of information debunks a lot of assumptions and it's interesting to think about.
Actually, my only issue is that, according to George, that decision would be influenced by the show instead of being organically part of his plans. Other than that, I'm happy with Sansa living. As much as I dislike Stansas I am still a fan of how Sansa is actually written and I trust George to come up with a cohesive ending. And honestly? I'd prefer it, considering her fans would convince themselves that Arya's ending only happened because Sansa died. I can already see the "if Sansa had survived" theories and fanfictions. Let her live and show her fans that this was always how things were going to play out.
