I had a dream last night that I met Eoin Macken, (he was eating a yoghurt who knows why) and he told me "so we agree, Ilya Rozanov is just Gwaine in a different font?"
And I don't know if I agree or disagree.

not to be an incredibly biased steter shipper, but peter slowly reaching out and grabbing stiles' forearm and bringing his wrist up to his mouth while stiles watches and asking him "yes or no?" with his mouth hovering inches away from his wrist is fr the most erotic scene in the entire show

“It’s photoshopped” honestly in the age of AI that has a homey sort of nostalgia to it. Remember when people used to put effort into faking things?

Ooh the way Janell James redirected that weird ass question from "so when you look at Connor now and you think about "those scenes" in Heated Rivalry what goes on in your-" to cut him off with "That's not what I'm thinking about. I'm thinking about his excellent Russian accent that he does, I'm thinking about his characterization. I'm thinking that he's adorable, and he looks like a leading man, and I'm excited to see where he goes next"
She saw right through the interviewer and said "Not on my watch, little man"👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
+ Bonus: Connor Storrie being so grateful and relieved she did that, the way he softly elbowed her before saying "thank you. I really appreciate that" 🥹
Look at their faces after she gives her answer!
Janell James the woman you are
So I need BAMF Merlin, because everyone needs bamf Merlin, right?
But I need BAMF Merlin to be SEEN.
I don't care if it's by the lower town, or visiting nobles, the nights, or Arthur. Wait. Scratch that. Of course I care that he's seen by Arthur first and foremost.
ANYWAY
Bamf Merlin. And everyone can see that Merlin is a BAMF.
I need it. Tell me you need it, too, because Merlin certainly needs it.
"There's a danger with the warmth of the spotlight it can make an ordinary temperature feel really cold"
Sometimes I forget people aren't multishippers then I see someone talking about how they used to ship something then got a new ship and I'm like what do you mean you aren't just collecting ships like cool rocks you see on the ground

I'm being draaaaagged on another site
But I'm stubborn, I won't delete my comments.
now it's "fascist" to hire actors who don't disclose their sexuality. I might not understand something.
Feel free to explain that leap to me.

Peter and Stiles are in a cold war of arguments. Stiles has Peter blocked on everything and a circle of mountain ash around his house when Derek is slamming on the barrier. Peter's been murdered (again) and stiles is not having it. Just as Peter is trying to gaslight gatekeep girl boss himself out of the afterlife he finds himself awake in his coffin.
Instead of going through angst and heartbreak with the rest of the pack Stiles hacks necromancy and just brings Peter back. Peter doesn't even get a moments peace as Stiles picks the argument back up right where they left off.
Peter is all 'yes dear' cause Stiles just invented necromancy for this dickhead.
Can anyone explain to me why Yaoi is now used for things that are neither Japanese or animes?
And I know it means "boys' love", but why is it used for anything m/m when we have had a fuck load of vocabulary about it for decades.
Yaoi is a western term.
Boys Love or Shounen ai is used in Japan, there is a specific term in Japanese that means m/m relationships.
Yaoi is a japanese word to start with. This argument doesn't make any sense.

Boys' love - Wikipedia
“Yaoi has been used as an umbrella term in the West for Japanese-influenced comics with male–male relationships”

Caroline gives us a glimpse into the history of the genre Boys' Love and its fandom.

The Boys Love genre's long and storied history reflects the ever-changing nature of the manga industry itself.
“Yaoi is a self-deprecating portmanteau of the Japanese phrase "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi," which translates to "no climax, no point, no meaning," poking fun at the purely erotic nature of many of these early works.”
You're just proving my point. But thank you for the links, very informative.

Honestly, I think it's just a generational slang thing. I'm in my 30s and for the longest, I also only ever heard it used for anime and manga...and also for a very specific subgenre of anime/manga. Like, not all anime/manga with queer men would be considered yaoi.
And then, like, 5 years ago suddenly it's being used everywhere for any m/m pairing and for western media too. So I think it's just a change in how the slang is used as more and more young people have access to both the internet and international queer media.
Alright, that makes sense, then. It's because of the influx of people discovering fics during the pandemic and the rise of anime/Asian m/m shows, now they call anything yaoi. Got it
Yeah, I don't know that the pandemic was part of why. I noticed it about 5 years ago but it could've started earlier...but yeah that would make sense if they're connected.
People were bored and online 24/7 they explored things they hadn't before they heard more people talking about spending time writing/reading fics during the lockdowns and looked for what it was. also algorithms pushed fandoms things onto fanbase on socials. It's one of the reasons some people don't even know the difference between the two. Anyway
