Our 3 hens have been very productive. Haven't purchased a single egg from the store since they started laying back in November.

They're alive!!! Bulbs I've purchased last autumn.

It’s been a year since I last canned anything. Today, I thought I’d practice while I wait for the rest of my tomatoes to ripen. Although canning a small batch like this is such a waste of electricity and water, I had a blast doing it

Late summer blooms. I started all of them from seeds, and tbh I thought I’d never see some of them bloom. The aster in particular.

Left some radish from the spring crop to seed. 56% (9/16) germination rate. It's a little lower than I like but I think I should have enough for a small bed next spring. Still loving the envelopes I made a couple of months back.

Drying some marigold, lavender (mostly leaves), and oregano to mix in with the goldenrod I harvested last week for tea. Also, how is it September already? The fuck!?

After finishing the chicken run roof this morning, I was seriously craving something greasy for lunch. So I made some tempura with zucchini flowers (a little past their prime, but still pretty delicious) and kale. I accompanied them with tofu with homemade tonkatsu sauce, lightly sautéed green beans, and some kimchi (Costco kimchi 🤣🤣)

Goldenrods

Finally tried goldenrod tea. Not a big fan. It kinda has a milky-like aftertaste. Last week, I tried marigold with chamomile, lavender, and oregano… I can see this going well in that mix. I also think it’ll be good with a slice of lemon and basil.
