What Is Legacy Night?

IC Information -

Posters have been plastered in most major Exile towns, the hashtag #LegacyNight has been trending on social media sites for several days now - all referencing a new project to chronicle the various histories of Exile culture before they’re lost to the throws of time.

According to the advertisements, the project came from an Arborian war vet’s efforts to record the lives, history, and culture his own people and in the process realized that this wasn’t a simply Aurin condition.  Exile society as a whole is made up of blended cultures with rich traditions and histories that are at risk of being forgotten as the Exiles settle in to make their own home.

What Legacy Night means to do is to preserve the legacy of the Exiles so that future generations will be able to remember just where it is that they came from.  And it’s inviting all Exile citizens to come and have their stories recorded too. 

OOC Information -

Legacy Night is an event where people can meet new roleplaying friends and share perspectives on lore and world-building headcanons.  There’ll be a specific topic for every Legacy Night to guide the discussion to talks on your character’s history or culture, under IC premise of chronicling the myriad cultures that make up the Exile community for future generations.  This first event is just a tester to gauge interest, but if enough people want more, then we’ll be holding these every other week.

What Characters Are Invited?

Literally every Exile character!  It doesn’t matter what race they are, what their profession is, as long as they are compatible with Exile-only roleplay, they’re welcome to attend.  Exceptions can be made for Dominion defectors and faction-neutrals so long as they don’t come in carrying Legion banners.  There will be content applicable to every Exile race - so break out your favorite Exile characters without worry about exclusion. :)

Why just Exiles?  While we love our friends on the other side of the faction fence, we recognize that many loyal Exile and Dominion citizens have difficulty getting along without murder being involved.  In an effort to keep the event lore-friendly for all attendees, Legacy Night will be Exile-only.  Besides, the whole event is focused on Exile culture!

What About Rules?

Show kindness and civility to your fellow players and refrain from using derogatory slurs or showing out-of-character judgment toward those brave enough to share.  We know that lore can be a touchy subject for some and our DM staff will be keeping to topics that won’t interfere with anyone’s personal headcanons or immersion.

When Is This Happening?

The next event will be held on Monday, September 18th @ 8:30pm CST at the housing plot of Hortencia Sokolova.  Just head up the pathway and enter the opera house to attend.  If you need help navigating, please whisper Kibwe Quakebug for help.

“What if the Ravaging never happened? What if the aurin never had contact with the Exiles or Dominion? What would your character be like? How would their life be different?

Welcome home to Arboria! The housing plot, Mother Tree, is a gathering place for all aurin tribes. Whether you are just passing through, or staying long term, the village at the Mother Tree is a great place to meet up, barter wares, exchange stories, rest and recoup, or just quietly explore.

Since this is an AU and different from Wildstar’s main storyline, a few rules should be followed to help with immersion:

This plot is for aurin only!

No high technology (no bots, pistols, or otherwise futuristic tech). Think like Ren-faire level clothing, mounts and weapons. Sword and sorcery.

This AU takes place in present day, just on a different timeline.

The aurin classes of Spellslinger, Esper and Stalker would still be intact, though Stalkers would not have nanites and Slingers would not have pistols.

The aurin hierarchy of Matrias and the Queen would still exist. As would the societal roles of Hunters, Tenders, Watchers, etc.

This plot has just newly opened. But we hope to host some events in the near future! For now, enjoy exploring this new avenue of storytelling!”

Plot name: Mother Tree (Entity US)

I have added Mother Tree to the krp list. So if you have Katia’s Building Tool installed, type /krp and you will see if there are people actively RPing there (make sure you update the list). Also, please set your krp to report, so others may see if you are there! 

Features of the plot include:

A large hut in the pines.

A swimming hole.

Two large caves, one with a gathering area and the other with a shrine. Sleeping areas are found throughout both.

A gathering area with drums, a stage and vendors to barter with.

Target practice! Throw spears at topiary animals!

A gathering place inside the Mother Tree.

A magical healing pool inside the Mother Tree.

Tree houses as well as the Mother Tree being fully climbable.

I have never built so fast and so focused in my WS life.

I want to thank @yiskabiscuit for her generous tree and NPC donations. So many trees! I couldn’t even fit them all!

And I want to thank @wilder-weave for the heaps and heaps of decor packs (so many I still don’t know what to do with them all), and building help. The cave with the fireplace in it is her work, I just finished up the details. She really saved me when I hit the wall and got all googly eyed. <3
