“Emotions are just a form of weakness deemed by society to be acceptable, and on most occasions actually praised.” Of all of the quotes Jim Moriarty had ever said that was the one that sprang to mind as Sebastian feel to the ground, his side burning in pain, and the warm blood already starting to coat his hands as he tried to put pressure on the gun shot wound with what little strength he had left. 

Jim spun round, his dark eyes wide and far from their usual emotionless gaze. He was speechless, Sebastian didn’t get hurt, he didn’t bleed; neither of them did. They were untouchable, lords over London’s criminal underworld, not just some common criminals who bled and died. Silently he sprinted over to the blonde, going to bend down only to get grabbed by two of his own men. Their shouts of “Boss, we need to get out of here now.” lost as he shrugged off the jacket they were holding and fell to his knees next to Seb.

He moved the other’s body so it was resting against him, and wrapped his arm both protectively and possessively around his neck. When his men tried to move him again Jim grabbed the pistol, which had fallen from Moran’s hand and held it up, his teeth gritted in a desperate attempt to stop himself from crying. “Don’t touch me, and don’t touch him.” He growled, like an animal protecting its children. “He’s mine, and he can’t die…hear that Tiger? I didn’t fucking give you permission to die!” His arms tightened as tears pricked in the corners of his eyes.

The sniper’s breathing gradually got shallower and shallower, Sebastian opening his icy blue eyes one last time as he whispered almost silently, “Emotions are just a form of weakness…” Then he stopped, breathing, moving, and holding on, just like that he was gone. But Jim couldn’t just go, he was left there in the street clutching Sebastian’s body, having lost the only thing he had ever grow close to loving.
