There's not a lot of content of fat men, but there is some. There are also pictures of queer couples, drag queens, historical photos, etc.

Another art reference for poses with fat bodies is the website FatPhotoRef run by @lawlesslagomorph who carefully vets the people who ask for access to the website in order to ensure that none of the fat people who have volunteered photos of themselves will be abused. Donations help keep the website running too!

thank you! I chose the orca because of how I’ve seen the symbol of the whale reclaimed by fat activists in the feed1st community. I wanted to choose the killer whale as a symbol to turn the fatphobic insult into something powerful (and dangerous). the orca on the flag represents majesty, community, resilience, & liberation!

the four shades of blue stripes represent the four categories of fatness, with infinifat first. the grey background is a direct nod to the grey bg in the disability pride flag, which represents the mourning and rage for victims of ableist violence and abuse.

I landed on blue bc it’s the color of the ocean, vast, expansive, everchanging, and intrinsic to nature itself. the orca belongs there!

- if they need to know your weight, they explain why, and they give you the option not to hear the number yourself if you don't want to (this goes for all patients regardless of size, as this can be a major trigger point for eating disorders). For instance, what dose you need of some medications will depend on your size

- they don't make assumptions about your lifestyle

- when you come to them with a problem, the first thing they prescribe is what they would prescribe to a thin person with the same problem

- if they suggest weight loss as part of a treatment, they explain how and why it's a relevant idea, and they bring it up specifically because the regular treatment isn't working or the problem keeps coming back, not as a "let's try that first"

- if you don't want to pursue weight loss, they respect your decision and help you whichever other way they can
