If you follow Selmers to the poetry society meeting in Night In The Woods, this is her poem. I loved it and the themes of the game, and wanted to use it as practice to see if i can control the way readers ‘hear’ the words through images.

The US owes its space program to Nazi scientists. West Germany was filled to the brim with Nazis in the army and government. NATO rehabilitated several Nazi and fascist officers to fight communism. The US has statues dedicated to Nazis. Canada has Nazi memorials and applauded an actual OG Nazi soldier at parliament. The West has no moral high ground to speak about South America when your whole political stance for the last 8 decades has been "Nazis are good when they work for us, actually".

There are several memorials and statues dedicated to the "Smoking Snakes", the Brazilian Expeditionary Forces, all over Italy.

When Josef Mengele fled to Argentina (and later to Brazil), he had to work as a carpenter under several fake names and couchsurf with the few nazi sympathizers he could find before dying alone, shunned and hated by everyone around him.
