This is the first time I’ve ever heard a church conversion referred to as a “chouse,” but I like it. This 1885 chouse is in Kansas and is priced at $265K. Look at the comparison of the before and afterr.

The Bee Book by DK Publishing This book is absolutely gorgeous. It is 200+ pages of information about bees: different species, their biology, how to attract them, beekeeping, harvesting honey, even recipes for food, drinks, health and beauty products made with honey and beeswax! There’s also a section on different plants that bees love, and some alarming information on Colony Collapse Disorder and the decline of bees in general. I cannot get over how gorgeous this book is, nor how informative. 12/10, highly recommended (even if, like me, you’re not a beekeeper).

It’s not a ‘scientists have found’ and much more ‘people have been already doing that for thousands of years and it’s just gaining more attention recently’
Scientists didn’t know. It should be “Scientists just found out”
There’s actually been a load of vitriol leveled against folks who try to raise traditional colored cottons, because a lot of cotton growers don’t want the colored cottons cross-pollinating with their standard white cotton.
But anyway cotton can be grown in lovely natural shades of greens, reddish-brown ochres, and browns, all of which deepen with a good boil in water with a bit of washing soda thrown in.
The color obviously doesn’t fade or run, because it’s not dye. It’s the intrinsic color of the fiber itself.
I....I want clothes made out of those colors. They don't hurt my brain!

I’m biased because I love the natural earth tones of many fibers, of course...browns, blacks, creams, copper-reds, ect...but I think they’re just gorgeous.

You can’t have too many books & toys: Studio aesthetic.
A friend and I were swapping pics of our studio “aesthetic,” so here’s mine. I’m working on a middle-grade fantasy-mystery graphic novel, so I’ve decorated with things that remind me of the mood I’m after.
Dumbo is for my fanfiction and fandom, rather than my GN.The shelf has figures from Vampirina, because I loved the illustrations of the original picture books, done by LeUyen Pham, who also illustrates several graphic novels.
I found a character from Elena of Avalor who made me think of Milly, so I put her with Dumbo. She’s holding a notebook and pen. If only there was a figure who looked like V.A.!
Along with my POTO music box are figures from Brave and Tangled. They make me think of certain characters in my GN.
I think Erik’s pretty pissed about them.
