whenever I watch any lord of the rings content, I’m impressed by the enthusiasm of the orcs at their jobs. Orc armies must have top levels of employee engagement for how jocular and gleeful the orcs are loading trebuchets, menacing villagers, and charging off to die for some fuckass reason I wish I had that kind of motivation. there’s something so whimsical and artistic about 90s-00s low-budget pbs/bbc miniseries, especially the period dramas and literary adaptations. like they were really just taking on the greatest works of english literature with some shitty lacefronts and a dream.
