He leaned in closer to Ribbit, her doing the same, and it escalated into something more than what they could control. There was no holding back their embrace, holding one another and the smack of their lips. If they could do even more than making out, the two would do it. But Jax removed his clothes nonetheless for his felt skin to feel her smooth curves. It was enough.

After what felt like an hour, Jax rested next to Ribbit, almost in disbelief in what they’d done together. He nor her had no regrets about this.This was love and happiness. It made Jax cry. 

Ribbit reached to wipe his tears. “You are so beautiful, Jax. I want you to know that, even if you may not believe it right now.”

Jax sniffled and touched Ribbit’s hand. “Thank you, Ribbit…. I don’t feel like I deserve this. At least, not right now. I hope to, someday.” Ribbit held him in her arms close. 

“You deserve every good thing to come.”

“You’re one of my good things, Ribbit.” 

Jax didn’t leave Ribbit’s room to return to his own. 

Outside, Kaufmo approached Ribbit’s door, figuring her and Jax were inside together since Jax wasn’t in his own room. But as he was about to knock on the door, he withdrew his hand, shaking his head. Kaufmo had a moment of doubt that he shouldn't disturb them. His assumption was confirmed when he heard the pair laughing with one another from outside. Kaufmo turned away and plans on talking to them later about what he saw. An exit door. 

It was sometime after the fact, Jax started to feel comfortable with wearing the bow on his head when he was alone in his room or with Ribbit in her room. What wasn’t such a secret was that now those in the circus are aware how much closer and intimate Jax and Ribbit are with each other. It wasn’t mocked, it was supported by Ragatha, Kinger and Kaufmo. Kaufmo always knew. The dynamic did change between the trio. Jax was always sitting closer to Ribbit, holding her hand, and giving each other kisses. While Kaufmo was the third wheel, just like what he experienced in his human life with friends having gotten together, while he was just present. And it was lonely when they spent time with him less and less. Kaufmo smiled through it and made the most of it. It’s not like Jax and Ribbit will have a kid together, right? Right? At least Jax and Ribbit still wanted him around and invited him on their teams for adventures, going to the cafe as their weekly tradition like always.

One day, Jax was going to be bold. Jax looked at himself in the mirror in Ribbit’s room in contemplation. 

“I’m going to do it.”

“Hm?”

Jax doesn’t look away from the mirror at himself and the bow on his head. “I.. I think I want to tell them now. About who I am.” Ribbit was taken aback by this development, but one she doesn’t argue against. He was ready now. Ribbit smiled at him, part of her having waited for this day to come. 

“I’ll be there with you every step of the way.” Jax smiled back at her, genuinely. He reached for her hand and she accepted her. 

It went better than Jax expected. She thought they’d laugh at her for coming out as a woman. Instead, Ragatha had questions to learn what had Jax come to this about her, being unfamiliar. It didn’t take long for Kinger to get used to referring to Jax as she/her. Kaufmo didn’t see Jax any differently, but he’d have a question to ask her. 

“Do you still want to go by “Jax” or do you want a new name?” Jax showed a cheeky grin on her face. 

“Greznedge.” Kaufmo stifled a laugh, but Ribbit gave him a look to not do it. Ragatha was skeptical and Kinger seemed to have embraced it. “Yep, call me Greznedge now.” 

Ragatha wanted to be supportive all the same. “Okay, Grez… Grez… nedge.” 

Greznedge laughed. “I’ll come up with something better, but for now, it’s Greznedge.”

“If there’s anything you need, Greznedge, do let me know. I can help with dressing something more feminine,” offered Ragatha, wanting to be a good friend to her. Greznedge grinned ear to ear. 

“@$&% yeah I want some lady clothes!”

Over time, Greznedge would find clothes and even wigs to wear she can change into at her whim, upon requesting Caine. Despite Caine not being able to change her name in the files, he would allow Greznedge to change into different outfits. Greznedge may always change her wardrobe, but she kept the bow Ribbit gave her to wear on her head. But the one thing Greznedge couldn’t do herself was applying eyeliner, allowing Ribbit and Ragatha to do it for her.
