In all seriousness, a lot of the things mentioned on that “angel tumblr community in a nutshell” post are things done by people who are newly awakened/people who may not have done that much introspection as to whether or not they’re actually an incarnate/angelkin.

Like describing a place that’s really common like a garden, or a library, and being all !!!!! when people say they remember a place like that too and assuming it’s the same one: that’s something I did when I first became active on tumblr for this kind of thing. When you’re new, there’s this pressure to conform to what the majority of other angels are saying and believing, and it hinders your own personal growth and discovery.

I remember trying to figure out which archangel I “belonged to” because that seemed to be something everyone else knew, as well as what choir. Turns out neither of those really applied to me in the traditional sense. I served directly under a goddess, then another angel in a much better relationship (that mimics a human employer/employee relationship much more than a god/worshipper/personal attendant one) and my appearance and roles didn’t really fit in one of the Abrahamic choirs (closest is a seraph, but that was before I “fell” - another concept that’s very broad but not treated like it in angelkin tumblr).

Same thing with names: I felt like if I couldn’t find a name I remembered on a list of angel names somewhere that I was somehow getting it wrong (and paradoxically, I also thought that if it was there I was misinterpreting the name because I knew about the “official” one first… actual newbie angel Haliel times were Weird).

Newcomers feel the need to “belong” to some group of angels they see on here, even if what they actually remember contradicts that group’s UPG or whatever the word is (is it still personal if it’s a group?? Idk) and a lot of this behaviour is an example of that. 

It’s a very human thing to do, to want to belong and conform to a group you like. And since we’re human now, it makes perfect sense to feel that and want it. But if you’d like to figure out who you really are/were, you need to separate your experiences from the majority’s. 

So to all the questioning angels/people who were/are in my former position: it’s okay to be different from the main cliques of angelkin tumblr. Exercise critical thinking and use your judgement when comparing others’ memories to yours. Look within yourself for answers first. Don’t be afraid to question things and be mistaken. 

Go with your gut instinct, and remember that our differences unite us as much as our similarities. Even if you don’t come from the same “Heaven” as someone else, you can still be friends with them and chat about all sorts of things.

Angels are as infinite in number and nature as the stars. There’s no need to bend your light to look like another. :)

(This is my personal view on the subject and no one else is required to accept it)

So… first off, a name seems to usually be what people try to figure out first when looking for information about themselves or about prior existences.  The name is an anchor point, something meaningful that represents your nature, that you can share with others to hopefully spark some recognition.

Now, there seems to be a lot of stress for a lot of people if they can’t figure out their name.

But… why would spirit creatures use True Names that were sound based?  Why not names consisting of frequencies of light?  Of non-syllabic whirs or clicks of sounds.  Of the background radio-wave static of various energy-forms?  Why would the languages of such beings be limited to sound?  It seems more likely that communication would occur through multiple mediums: light, sound, emotion, perhaps direct telepathic sendings.

So given that… finding “the right” name may not be as drastically important as it seems.  Why?  Because it is just a name.  It isn’t the full name, it doesn’t identify beyond any doubt.  It is simply a placeholder, something to associate to the energetic signature that was you, but that doesn’t completely explain you.

By associating a syllabic, sound-based name with yourself, though, it is easier to communicate with other beings who use such means of communication (i.e. humans/those who are currently human in form).  It doesn’t matter if a name is not strictly correct, if the association is made to your own energy, that will be accurate enough to use it.

I notice a lot of kin have a hard time getting memories from their canons. Everyone likes having memories: they make you feel more valid, they allow you to find canonmates more easily, and overall they’re really interesting and often nice to have.

I have a simple method for getting kin memories that has worked very well for me. I’ve gotten plenty of memories from it, and it’s been a great way for me to confirm kintypes I question. Sooo, I thought I would share it!

It’s an easy and quick process to go though: exactly what everyone wants!

It’s basically self-hypnosis, which is not as strange and crazy at it sounds. Hypnosis is a very natural thing, and we go into hypnotic trances very often in our everyday lives (e.g. when watching TV). It’s not scary at all. It’s really relaxing, and is actually pretty similar to meditation.
