earlier today i told an acquaintance in passing that i'll often be in the middle of a novel and think "man i wish this shit were more ambiguous" and had to reiterate twice that i wasn't being sarcastic before they believed me, so this post is to say: i love when writers don't bother to explain everything, i love when stories end uncertain and unsettling, i love being required to think as a reader, i love when stuff makes no damn sense, no i'm not kidding

At the peak of my disordered eating, I had a nutritionist who was like “milk and cookies is a good snack because fats+sugars+proteins, but more importantly, it’s food that you’ll eat.” 

On the bad days where I don’t want to eat cuz food is repulsive, the first thing that doesn’t sound completely disgusting is the thing I’ll eat no matter how healthy or junky it is for THIS EXACT REASON. You can always work out or eat better later, but you can’t do anything to get there if you pass out or worse due to not eating at all.

FED IS BEST APPLIES TO EVERYONE

Here’s the thing. Even the “worst” junk food has been fortified with nutrients. That sugar bomb breakfast cereal is also full of iron and B vitamins. Not to mention the protein, fat, carbs and assorted nutrients in the milk. Same with fast food burgers. Even some gummy candies are fortified with Vitamin C. Everyone needs to remember that kids used to die or end up permanently disabled from diseases caused by nutrient deficiencies. There’s a reason why even people with “unhealthy” diets still don’t get pellagra or rickets.

to me, correctly using 5+ commas in a single sentence is like perfectly executing a combo in a fighting game. to me.

if you think a sentence needs 5+ commas it should be two sentences

it’s not about what the sentence needs, i’m afraid, nor is it about economy, clarity, or style. it’s about winning, little-theatre-fairy.
