John Luther Adams’ work Strange and Sacred Noise is fractal music. It’s made with iterative function systems, and realized in percussion instruments. Read the essay for more.

Music generated from a fractal. Each set of lines unfolds from its parent line, in the pattern of the original set of lines (1). The rhythm corresponds to the lines in the graphics. The frequencies are also generated by the unfolding of the lines in the fractal. #fractalmusicmachine
