They just—took away an entire population’s valid IDs. With a stroke of a pen. No grace period. No chance for anyone to get their IDs “fixed” in time, not that they should have had to in the first place. They even made it illegal for people to drive themselves to the DMV to get a new ID. That’s insane y’all. That is dystopian level madness. It is petty and cruel and literally dehumanizing.

They have also invalidated their birth certificates, thus jeopardizing their ability to prove citizenship and vote. It’s voter suppression on top of everything else.

They wanted to make an entire population into criminals with a stroke of a pen and that’s what they did.

And the rest of the country just… hasn’t noticed. No one cares. There’s no headlines. Nothing on the news. Because it’s Kansas. Because it’s trans people.

WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING ON THIS TOO REAL QUICK. theyre trying to repeal section 230 and push all of those age verification bills through this month. (the package, kosa, getting rid of section 230, ALL OF IT.) not only that but the heritage foundation is in favor of it, which makes things even worse. we're in a very dangerous time right now and we have to keep fighting back. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. this will mean surveillance, loss of media, and worse.

Congress is trying to pass 18 "kids online safety" bills and also trying to repeal Section 230. If they pass these bills and repeal Section 230, the internet will be massively censored, ID-gated, and ultimately destroyed.

Congress is on recess as of next week, so while we have a bit of a breather for the holidays, be mindful that the war is far from over.

The senate has made it clear that February 2026 is the month they want to ram their bill gutting Section 230 through.

If we want a free & safe Internet, we have to prevent this bill from going through, so we need to push back hard.

Take a breather the next two weeks, but remain vigilant. Happy Holidays & I’ll see you all next year when the battle begins again.

There’s a lot happening right now now: KOSA & the SCREEN Act advancing to a final committee vote(No date announced as of today), A possible gutting of Section 230(Yet to be introduced); Everyone is scared & tired. I get it.

But we need to keep pushing back.

We need to keep fighting.

The only reason none of this has happened yet is because people have been so loud about it.

There’s one week left in the House before winter recess, So we need to go hard. We need to lock in. Call all of your representatives—Senators and House—really pester them on how dangerous all of this is.

KOSA and the other age-verification bills we've been watching have been passed out of their subcommittee in the House and are now before the full House Energy and Commerce Committee. NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BE A DOOMER OR PANIC. Why? Because KOSA and these other bills were passed along party lines and with only a slim majority. THAT MEANS OUR OPPOSITION IS WORKING, not only that, but we know that no matter how much they tout these bills as being popular and bipartisan, there is a clear divide amongst them, and they DO NOT all agree with these bills. Now, it's up to us to continue our opposition by calling, emailing, and faxing, so we don't lose the momentum we've gained this week. Not only should we be consistently acting between now and next week, but we should also be reaching out to others, on and offline, to build and maintain this movement.

I believe we're at a good place, given that lawmakers disagree with and dislike these bills, and we made a lot of noise this week. WE MUST KEEP UP OUR OPPOSITION. Even if you're not hearing much news or things seem slow, call, email, or fax.

Use your energy for opposition. If you're angry, contact representatives and spread the word. If you're scared, contact representatives and spread the word. If you're panicked, contact representatives and spread the word. When I feel all those things, that's what I do to ensure I'm doing my part in helping to stop these bills. You should too.

Thanks to everyone who is making their voices heard. Let's keep making this process difficult for them BECAUSE CALLING MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE.

P.S. When you're calling also mention how you support/want to keep Section 230 as it is written. And I'll probably have more as we hear more.

you technically arent supposed to contact those who dont represent you, but desperate times call for desperate measures, in my opinion. besides, its not like theyre gonna arrest you for it or smth lol. if the person taking the call tells you they cant take your message because you arent in their district, just leave a voicemail after hours (before 9am and after 5pm EST)

in about 2 weeks, it's said that the package that not only contains kosa, but also coppa 2.0, and ASAA (which is a new one to me) will be brought up, and talked about. remember to start calling your house representatives now, before they pass this law. to make matters worse, many have been also pushing for kosa to be passed as of recently, only making them believe that these censorship bills are good to pass, and become law.

Pro-KOSA groups are on social media trying to push to make it seem like KOSA is popular to force the Senate and House to pass it. We need to make it known that this bill isn't popular, so please CONTINUE TO CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TO OPPOSE! Even if it's not in the news or mentioned often, it's always good to remember to call to ensure your voice is heard and we're doing everything we can to stop this and other harmful bills.
