Was watching the second series of Nine Perfect Strangers earlier and when I got to the scene where Agnes starts tripping in the museum and the sound of the church bells comes in through the walls O.o a few revelations happened, to say the least.

I haven't mentioned on this blog before, but I've been kinsidering an angel kin/possibly chaintype (though kintype now feels more correct than chaintype after this experience). This post is about an important experience I've had related to my questioning/discovering process of this 'type.

This is going off my memory that's a few hours old now so it's not that detailed, and I do apologise /lh for that, but from what I remember:

As soon as they started I felt a strange sense of pulling / calling towards them and a euphoric(?) feeling developed. There was also some sort of feeling in response to her saying she 'feels nothing' about them, like a confusion as if it was almost absurd she didn't?

I don't remember this too much tbh but as she approached the church I remember feeling the being called towards/longing to be in/near [I'm not sure what exactly, but it didn't feel like a (literal?) church] disappeared, replaced by a sense of 'I don't belong here'(?) and a feeling of being like having been pushed out of the space in the past*

I can't remember how I had reached this conclusion but I suddenly felt very clearly as if I were a /fallen/ angel specifically in some way, and from what I remember it felt like it had been my fault why I fell (if that's the right grammar/term).

pretty sure I remember feeling 'above the other angels / closer to being a god than an angel' so that's possibly related to why fell?

*I'm not sure if this is 100% correct I just felt something akin to not being what you once were / not part of/welcome in a place (felt like related to I'm pretty sure the presence of and(/or?) an authority in general iirc) when you once were

I had been acting under the assumption this was a psychological / non-past life 'type (still figuring out specifics) but this all felt very clearly like memories of a past life. Clearer/stronger than I usually get them, too! Though, it does possibly explain why I was feeling like I was "an angel but not an angel"

archetrope: An identity under the alterhuman umbrella in which one heavily identifies with or otherwise experiences an archetype, trope, or otherwise preestablished character model in a way that is central to their identity. It may not necessarily be inherently nonhuman, but has a significant enough impact on one’s identity to be experienced in similar ways as other alterhuman labels. Archetropy may specifically or especially inform one’s identity in deeply influential ways in regards to aspects such as personality, occupation/profession/field of study, gender expression or identity, philosophy, spiritual beliefs, or political alignment. It is a nuanced and complex identity which can fall anywhere on the voluntary-involuntary and “identify with”-“identify as” spectrums. This identity can also have spiritual, psychological, or other origins. It could present as an intrinsic identity one is born with, an identity one takes on for the purpose or self-expression and enjoyment, a coping mechanism, or in a myriad of other ways. It is a flexible term that describes a broad range of experiences of identity and alterhumanity. (Examples of archetropal identities include pirate, clown, ranger, royalty, etc.)

“person who is” noun form: archetrope (For example, “Jane is an archetrope.”) “state of being” noun form: archetropy (For example, “John’s archetropy affects their identity.”) adjective form: archetropal (For example, “Jane’s archetropal identity makes them happy.”)

To refer to specific archetrope “types” (as one would specific kintypes or kithtypes) use the prefix “arche-” followed by the identity itself. (For example, “I am an archepirate,” “They are archeroyal,” etc.) The term can also be hyphenated if the identity label starts with a letter that would make the term difficult to read such as in “arche-explorer,” if the term is multiple words long such as “arche-raised by wolves” or “arche-mountain man,” or if one simply prefers to use that syntax.

It is very important to note that those who created this term do not believe in anyone being forced to identify with any particular term or label themselves any specific way! This term exists to describe a community and identity that is commonly experienced but doesn’t have any specific preexisting terminology, but no one should be forced to identify with it if they prefer to describe their identity in some other way. The way you define yourself is up to you, this is just another option!

Some people think that commenting these things are helping our community “find themselves”. They are not. They are actively harming the therian community and its members.

they said “you are not weird, you are not gross, you are not unlovable, you are not broken” and in the same breath “be yourself!!”

the reason i have issues with this sentiment is that it frames “unsavory” adjectives as an “other” that doesn’t deserve respect or decency

nonono youre not weird or gross or ugly they are others that actually are

like okay ?? they deserve respect and kindness too

lets be real here, we are weird !! sometimes we do things that are considered gross !! sometimes we feel that parts of us are broken !! sometimes we are fucking ugly !!

to be alterhuman is to embrace the weirdness and nuance of your identity, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the community if you ignore and actively reject that fact

we as a society have a real fucking issue accepting ugliness and being abnormal. we always try to contort it to make ourselves feel more comfortable rather than making the actual people who face oppression for being ugly and off putting in society feel seen and understood

if you have been bullied because others have found you ugly and weird it feels like a slap in the face when people tell you “oh no you’re not” because they’re invaliding your lived experience !!

telling ourselves that we arent weird doesnt make the real life consequences of being a therian in the public eye go away

there is a reason WHY you probably dont wear your gear as often as you want to, because there is a risk of safety and ridicule if you do, hell even the op of that post said they are only out to very few people

yes you dont have to out yourself to anyone, but lets also not ignore the fact of why you wouldn’t want to

once you are labeled as an other in society everyone feels as if they have the golden ticket to berate and harass you for existing

dont give a flying fuck and let others think you are weird because yes you ARE weird. fucking own it !! rub it in their face !!

dont let weird/gross/cringe as an insult hurt you anymore

you have a right to exist, you deserve respect and kindness. while some may find you hard to love, you are still deserving of it

The alterhuman biodiversity report

Since the haters say that we all are either wolf or fox therians, I’m going to make a list of all the species (and not only) I encounter in the community. I’m going to pin this post and update it every time I meet someone with a new/different identity.

Also, you can DM me, send me asks, repost or comment if you want your identity to be added. I’ll try to include everyone but it’s probably going to take me some time, so if I don’t add you right away, don’t worry, it’s just going to take me a bit ;)

IMPORTANT!!

The only requirement to be on the list is to make clear the exact species you are. That’s because I want to make the list as full of variety as possible. For instance, if you tell me that you’re a parrot therian, I won’t add you unless you tell me the exact species (ex. Hyacinth Macaw).

At the bottom I’ll tag those who I included in this list (cannot tag more than 50 ppl but I’ll still tag those included symbolically). I won’t do it if the user is not ok with it, of course. I’ll try to be careful and look at your blog before tagging you, but if I accidentally tag you/add you on the list without your will then DM me so I’ll remove you).
