Genuinely the only person I can see JJ being with is Pope. Like the two understand eachother in a way the others don't. JJ understands what's important to Pope and its also important to him (aka his scholarship). JJ wants Pope to achieve his dreams and he makes sure that Pope doesn't have anything that can step in the way of him not being able to do that. Pope also understands JJ and his difficulties. In s2 When John B and Sarah are "dead" No family comes for JJ to comfort him. However Pope family are their to hold him and make sure that he is able to mourn. Both JJ and Pope balance eachother out. Pope can balance out JJ wildness whilst JJ makes Pope step out of his comfort zone. This is different with the bond shared between JJ and Kie. They aren't equals and most of their energy is not balanced. They share the playful banter like Pope and JJ but its different. JJ also has a hard time telling Kie he loves her but he's able to say it to Pope no problem even if Pope never says it back.
