Car Fourteen | Penny, Stitch, and Pain
Stitch was the last to be shoved into the small room and as the door shut behind him he let out a small, annoyed huff of air. They were at last getting out of this place andĀ someoneĀ had to go and fuck up. Security wouldnāt be behaving this way unless Scar was angry. Or paranoid. Most likely both.
He stayed quiet as the girls spoke, looking back and forth between the two of them. As little interaction as heād had with either of them, he still doubted that either of them could be responsible for the sudden boost in security. But then the people here had a way of surprising him.Ā
"Itās exactly like a holding cell." He spoke, deciding his place would be to lean against one of the walls, arms crossed. "And unless you wanna get worse than this I wouldnāt even touch that door." Stitch had been here a long time. Ten, eleven years. He had learned better than to try and avoid or run from things like this. "Splitting us up like this probably will make us easier to crack." He shrugged his shoulders. Blunt maybe but heād done nothing wrong. He had nothing to worry about.
Mickey stood propped up in the corner, a bag dropped at his side, with all the grace and integrity of the new kid during lunch. Of course, he only needed a few seconds to charm everyone. Time to work his magic, he didnāt think he was afraid, so instead he was social.
Moving from the corner, his mouth slipping into a smile as he mused to himself, he made his was to the other bed, sitting criss-crossed on it. He figured if the others didnāt want it he might as well take it. Day two and things were already getting interesting, perhaps he shouldāve chased his brother out of the country sooner.Ā
"Whatāya think theyāre looking for," his tone was bright and inquisitive.Ā
"And what do we got? Drugs? Anyone here break any laws?"
It clicked, oh, carnies, not everyone was running from daddyās company.
"Anyone break any laws recently?"
It wasnāt as charming as a conversational topic as he had hoping for, but times like these werenāt particularly charming were they?
"The kidās right. The last thing we should probably do is piss Scar off anymore by not doing what weāre told. Heāll have your ass out on the street, or worse." she muttered, picking at her nails a little.
Then she ran a hand through her bright pink hair, āYeahā¦plus, I think he split all of us up with people weāre not all that close with so we feel like we got no one to trust or turn to⦠he wants to keep us anxious probably.ā her voice was thoughtful as she spoke, stopping when she noticed the new kid in the corner before he moved to the other bed with a smile on his face Pain found rather irking.Ā
His tone got under her skin even more then his grin. How could he be so bright? Obvious he didnāt realize this wasnāt normal, this was something to be nervous about, āOi, Sunshine,ā she called over at him with a small jut of her chin, āTone down the rainbows and glitter there, no one better have drugs around here, Scar doesnāt play that. He donāt care if you drink or shit like that, but I think we all know drugs are a no no. Secondly, why would we admit if weād broken and laws? Especially to someone we dont know?ā she questioned, shifting uncomfortably, āFor all we know, youāre one of Scarās lackeys, feeding him every bad deed weāve done so he has something to hold over us.ā her eyes flicked away to look at Stitch and Penny before she looked down at her hands.
Penny immediately became wary of the stranger, sure she hadn't been Ā close with Pain or Stitch but at the very least she'd seem them around. As much as Pain scared her, as Penny never quite knew how to talk to the girl, she wasn't completely familiar with the her workings. This boy was happy, an attribute Penny associated with trust and automatic liking, but Pain's words set her on edge and made her cautious of the boy.Ā
She felt anxiety dripping down into her body, the room was small and four people made it seem much smaller. She kept her inner thoughts in check, chewing her lip as she sat herself still in the corner of the room, her back against the wall to protect herself from what may be behind her. It reminded her of the infamous cave of her youth, a thought that she tried to shove to the back of her head.Ā
Nervous and tense, she sharply asked the new boy, "Yeah, who are you anyway?"Ā
Her hands ran through her hair as thoughts raced through her mind, speculating if Pain was onto something in her aforementioned talk of drug use, or if Scar just decided he was going to murder all of them. That was probably it. Mass killing. Seemed logical.Ā
