i initially conceived of anaia as having a long-term girlfriend but i was finding that character kinda had nothing to do aside from be anaia's girlfriend but i still like the idea of anaia only moving to LA because her partner was following a job opportunity. so i think now that she is at the start of the game a few days off from breaking up with her fiancee who was the only reason she moved to this city. and so she has to spend the entire game asking herself "why am i even here"

i need to write a game as slow and contemplative as Telltale The Walking Dead season 1. that game does such a good job of giving you time inbetween to really feel the weight of everything that happens, even later in the game with higher tension there's time to just Exist in spaces. honestly my biggest problem with season 2 is just how fast it is, how rapidly it wants to get you from setpiece to setpiece. like the whole point of season 2 is that it's unstable and unanchored, it's clementine seeking stability in grownups (looking for a new Lee/a new Christa) and not finding it, but it also makes the relationships between group members just not have the sauce and keeps us from really sitting with the weight of what's happened

it feels like every time i watch heathers i come away with a new character i really noticed, a new scene that really jumped out at me, and a new jason dean line delivery that pisses me off. this time it was respectively Heather Duke, the "tweety" scene, and "i knew that loose was too noose. i mean, heh."

the one thing that sucks abt liking smaller artists is the Genius pages aren't filled out. i have no confidence in my own interpretation i have no clue whether saoirse dream is doing some super complicated stuff with chronology or if she's just plural

i think while ruiz is recovering from losing her arm anaia comes to visit her a lot, initially to seek guidance as interim leader of ruiz's staff (and also to make sure she's safe, offer to wash dishes for her and bring her groceries and such) but increasingly just to hang out. i think they start watching a hospital procedural (the type that ruiz always used to watch as a guilty pleasure. anaia wanted to watch it because she's heard there are lesbians in like the 5th season) and ruiz, an EMT before the emergence, rants after every episode about medical inaccuracies and the characters violating HIPAA constantly. she's so invested tho
