EFF

my uncle passed away on saturday. i’ve been really busy and rn i’m sat smoking a joint as i listen to the rain. i haven’t seen him in a little while, he lived just below my dad. they live hours away, so i call my dad everyday, either voice or video. they were always together. my uncle would always ask when i’m next baking something and if it was something i could mail him. we’d gang up on my dad together playfully. he had a sweet, soft voice. he was hilarious. kind. smart. loved his family. he was always the uncle i was closest to on my dads side. on calls, i’d ask what they were up to, or what they’re watching and always joke with them about their “old man” tastes- especially in tv and movies. i’d always bake extra when my dad came to visit so he could take them home to share with my uncle. i’m never gonna get to bake his favourite things for him again. never talk about stargate with him again. never talk about tech (he was a computer genius!!) with him again. my dads lost his brother and best friend all in one. hell even his neighbour. i’m… sad. i hate how much death is around me as of late. it’s all hitting like a truck, one after the other. i’m sad for my dad. he isn’t the most emotional person but i can hear it in his voice, the way that it shakes now. the only positive of my uncles death is that his suffering is over. he fought for a long time. i don’t fear death, but i hate how much grief consumes me. i hate how feeling other’s grief too consumes me. sigh. rip uncle john.
