“Oh, that wasn’t me,” said Missy hastily, almost babbling. “I don’t know how that happened. Don’t think it has anything to do with me. I hit my head and I can’t remember anything. Where are we?”
"If you're really that concerned, I do have a shelf. I was organizing them before putting them away. Some people like to do things like that. I can take an educated guess you're not one of them." Erin snapped, her attitude getting the better of her. This woman really knew how to push her buttons.
"Maybe you have a concussion." Erin hissed, picking up a stack of books and carrying them past Missy, over to a table. She plopped them down and folded her arms. "How did you get in here anyway? I thought I locked the doors."

“Oh, that wasn’t me,” said Missy hastily, almost babbling. “I don’t know how that happened. Don’t think it has anything to do with me. I hit my head and I can’t remember anything. Where are we?”
"Not you, huh?" Erin popped her hip, rolling her eyes at the stacks of knocked over books all around her. Stack that, up until about a minute ago, had been in perfect alphabetical order. "Stop trying to make excuses. You can't just waltz in here and mess everything up!"
Erin ran a hand through her hair and sighed. The nurturing side in her shine through slightly. "Did you really hit your head?"
drholtzphd:
“I am having so many feminist emotions. Ok, I get the whole feeling empowered and wearing whatever you want thing. That’s fine. School dress codes are stupid and I agree. But there’s also a huge history of women feeling like we need to be sexualized and wear like 2 inches of cloth on our bodies so I don’t think people should feel like they need to dress like this. But also… your words are doing things to me and your reaction is making me want to wear this all the time if I know you’re going to look at me like that. I’m feeling so conflicted,” she moaned.
Jillian kissed her back. “Oh, that pisses me the fuck off. Don’t worry. I’ll give you the final shot, but I’m going to fuck him up first if I can get away with it.”
She very easily entered the club, ready to put on her drunk girl persona, but as the doors closed behind her, her blood ran cold. The assassin didn’t have a good feeling about it from the moment she walked in, but she pushed the thought away and trudged in the direction of her target. She plopped herself into the empty stool beside the man, spinning around and giggling at herself. “Hey there handsome,” she slurred her words the best she could. “My friends left me and I lost my wallet. I’m so thirsty. Wanna buy me a drink?”
He looked her up and down, leering uncomfortably at her body. Jillian cringed internally, but her tipsy character maintained the same attitude on the outside. At least it was working. He smirked. “Sure thing, gorgeous.” He ordered her a gin and tonic, and she tried to keep her eyes on him while watching the bartender mix her drink at the same time. That was always the name of the game. Trust no one.
She made small talk with him, but after her first sip of her drink he became increasingly more suspicious. Jillian figured it out quickly, but her brain didn’t seem to be moving in time with her body. Her heart was racing, her movement sluggish, but no longer the fake drunk kind.
“I’m not a fool,” he hissed at her, two men coming up behind the stool and grabbing her. It didn’t take much strength to hold her back, her efforts to fight off weak and her vision blurring. One man slipped a hand up her dress and she prepared for the worst, but instead of doing what she expected he simply took the gun strapped to the inside of her thigh. Actually, that was probably the worse of two options. They were going to kill her. Fuck. “Er—” she tried to yell, but it came out as a mumble as words failed her.
“Oh no, I’m not saying you have to dress like this... Well, okay, I am for this specific circumstance, but any other time. You do you, my love.” She winked. “You can keep the dress, okay? Maybe we’ll retire it from missions after this and just keep it for ourselves.”
She watched Jillian walk away into the club and Erin leaned back against her car. Now was the point of the night where she had to play the waiting game. They had mics, but she didn’t expect to have to need to use them. The man Jillian was trying to get a hold of in there usually had any girl he wanted in his grasps in under 5 minutes. This was going to be quick.
Her head was pounding as the loud music flowed out into the night. For the parking lot of a packed nightclub, it was unusually still. Erin looked around and noticed no drunk girls stumbling out to use their phones, no one outside taking a smoke break, no one hooking up in the alley behind the building. Something was off.
Call it intuition, or call it common sense, either way, Erin got up and grabbed her gun. She switched off the safety and walked quickly over to the main entrance. She kicked the doors open and aimed her gun straight ahead. She had expected gasps and the music to shut off. She expected yelling and maybe some gunfire in response. She expected to hear Jillian complain about how she was ruining the plan. Instead, she was met with silence.
The crowd, although massive, seemed not to notice her. It was almost as if they were all in a trance of some kind. Either that, or just very good at their jobs. She didn’t suspect they were going to attack, but she kept her gun pointed anyway as she walked inside.
She scanned the crowd and felt her stomach drop as she didn’t find Holtzmann anywhere. In fact, she hadn’t noticed any familiar faces, which is unusual for her. The mob queen has quite the contact list in this city. She noticed a kicked over stool in front of her and ran forward, noticing a spilled drink of the ground.
A tap on her shoulder forced her to whip around and place the barrel of her gun right up against a large, dark-haired man. She was sharp, exact, she could pull the trigger whenever she wanted. “What the fuck is going on, here?” She demanded, her voice having to be loud over the music that still played.
“He said you’d come.” The man said, offering her a piece of paper in his palm, holding it out for her to take. “Everything I have to offer you is here. You’re free to leave now.”
Erin, although her eyes never left him, grabbed the paper and backed out of the emergency exit next to her. She didn’t stop until she got back into the car and made sure it was locked. No one had followed her. No one was watching her. She looked down at the slip in her hands and read it, a hollow gasp escaping her chest as she felt her body shake.
We have your partner. If you ever want to see her again, drive away now.
@formerghostgirl
“Why do I have to be the bait?” Jillian complained, huffing as she crossed her arms over her incredibly revealed chest. The question was rhetorical—the man Erin was after knew the mob boss too well, but he had never seen the assassin before in his life. She had to be the distraction. Normally, Jillian wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to use her tits to get what she wanted, but that was only with women or generally pretty people. Whenever she was around men like the one in question, she tried to give off the most masculine vibe she possibly could.
Her bright red dress passed just over the tops of her thighs and was cut low. Not to mention the shiny stiletto heels that she was convinced she was going to fall over in. Then again, she was playing the role of a completely wasted party girl, so she assumed being a little clumsy was going to be helpful if anything. Jillian could wear heels on any given day, but these were chunky and clunky and ten times taller than she was used to. “It’s not a surprise to me that you’re on bad terms with a man who takes advantage of inebriated and unsuspecting women that are dressed like this. I would be too. But I swear to god, if he gets too close to me before you get to him, I’m going to have to steal your glory and shove his balls through his stomach.”
"Can we just appreciate how fucking good you look?" Erin winked, pulling a handgun from the glove box of their car and securing it on her person. "Because you are /so/ getting some when this is done." She looked the blonde up and down, noting every bit of skin that was showing.
"Yeah we've never really seen eye-to-eye." She chuckled. "He harassed a few of my girls a while back and when I tried to get his head for it... things went south." Erin sighed, rembering how that asshat managed to get out of her grasp. "I'm just trying to even out the score, here. As soon as he even thinks about laying one of his skeezy hands on you, I swear.." Her knuckles turned white as she squeezed her fists. "Dont be afraid to, though. I'd appreciate it."
She looked over Jillian one final time before smirking. The packed bar in front of them roared with music and it made her ears hurt, even from the parking lot. "Oh," She added as an afterthought. Erin held out a hand, grabbing the tight fabric of Holtzmann's dress and pulling her closer, their faces inches apart. "If it helps you with your mission at all, he tried to come after me with his grubby little paws, and was a little more successful with it than I would've liked. So," She pressed a quick kiss to Jillains lips before spinning her around to face the entrance to the club. "Go get 'em, baby. I'll be close behind."

“I guess so. I mean, I know he said he had to get to us before he could get to Charlie…” She bit her lip, mind flashing to her friends and wondering if they were okay.
“Don’t worry, babe. These apes are kind of stupid. They didn’t bother to look for the knife in my pocket,” Holtzmann scoffed, shimmying both of her hands so she could dig inside of it. She began sawing at some of the rope so she could slip her hands out of the zip tie.
Once she had freed herself, she turned to Erin’s own bindings. “Don’t worry. We’re going to get out of this.”
“They’re fucking idiots if they think we’re going to let them get to him.” She saw a glint off the metal of the knife as Jillian cut through her ties. “Someone’s dying today. And it’s not the fuck going to be us.” Erin rolled her eyes, rubbing her wrists as she was cut free.
Quickly, she stood up and walked the perimeter of the room, finding a switch and flicking it on. The room was filled with light and her eyes winced. She focused on Holtzmann and noticed they must’ve hit her in the head from her injury. “You may have a concussion.” She said out loud, ignoring the signs of her own.
She looked back to the large wooden door on one of the walls and laughed. “This doesn’t look too difficult.” She wondered if maybe, they were supposed to get out.

Her body went rigid with a mixture of embarrassment and uncertainty. It had been laid out on the table finally, and Erin wasn't sure what the next hand would deal to her. She finally looked up and met Holtzmann's eyes when she repeated the word. This was it, no going back.
She didn't know what else to say. Perhaps there wasn't anything else for this moment. Perhaps that was all they needed.
She became increasingly aware of the beating of her heart when Holtzmann stepped closer, her legs were practically pressed into her. Erin swallowed and blinked a few times, a stray tear falling down her cheek.
"Yeah, too." She shrugged. /Just admit it, Gilbert./ She thought to herself.
"I.. You..."
formerghostgirl:
Erin remembered seeing the familiar blonde hair when she reached the bottom of the staircase, but before she could call out to get her attention the wind was knocked out of her from behind. Two large, strong arms grabbed her around her torso and she cried, her injured hand being crushed in the process.
Her mind wandered from the pain as she looked up to Holtzmann. Her heart sank, seeing the other woman also being held. She couldnt hear what they were saying, but she didnt have much time to ask questions before she felt a blow to her head and her body went limp.
When she woke up, she was bound to a chair, her wrists and ankles tied down with zip ties and rope. It was dark, but she could feel the presence of someone next to her.
“Hello?”
“Don’t hurt her!” Holtzmann plead as she heard her girlfriend whimper in pain. She screamed as they knocked her out, but she didn’t do so for long as they did the same to her.
When Holtzmann came to, she had the worst headache of her life. All she heard was ringing in her ears and the heavy breathing of someone beside her. She had a feeling it was Erin, but she waited until she heard the familiar voice after she had woken up to be sure. “Erin? It’s me,” she mumbled. “I’m trying to figure out where the fuck we are, but I can’t see anything.”
She pulled on her restraints, groaning as it scraped her. “I don’t know where Abby and Patty are, or Bosley. But I’m guessing they have them too, or they’re looking.”
"Holtzmann." Erin breathed out, her voice shaking in relief. Her training kept telling hee to stay vigilant and assess the situation, but everything else inside of her wanted to scream. The names of her friends broke her out of it.
"That's what this is about?" She snapped. "Fuckers." She knew they were sought after agents. She knew Charlie had a lot of enemies, and so did they by proxy.
Erin struggled against her binds and yelped in pain. "Jill-" She huffed. "Holtzmann I think my knuckles are broken. I can't move my fingers. I can't get out."
formerghostgirl:
Erin grinned, the little voice in her ear making her chuckle. “I didn’t tell you that you had to stay down there, you know.” She sang, her voice light. She had ventured to the upper level of the bar where a friend of hers lived. Well, friend was a strong word.
Erin brought her arm to her chest after striking a hard blow to the chin of the man who was now tumbling to the floor. Her knuckles were throbbing and potentially broken since he had shifted to block her attack. She swore under her breath and drove the heel of her boot into the man’s jaw, rendering him unconscious.
“That’s kicking your ass. Next time don’t try to sell out my identity for a cheap lay, dumbass.” She spat, ignoring the pain in her hand and spinning around, heading back down the stairs.
“I’m done baby, we can get out of here. No need for any more gross men.”
“You know what they say about having an eye on the outside.” Holtzmann made a face. “I don’t know if they really say anything about that, but I’m not really sure why I needed to be here for this mission. Patty and Abby aren’t even here. I’m just an alibi.”
Holtz walked towards the staircase where she knew Erin would be coming. She felt another hand on her shoulder, but instead of turning around to beat the shit out of whoever was going to hit on her next, someone had a grip around her entire body. She gasped. “Agent Holtzmann…” a low voice growled. “So lovely to see you. We don’t have much time for greetings, though.”
“Erin!” the blonde screamed, but she whipped her head around to find her girlfriend also held down by a big burly man. “What are you doing with us?” she demanded.
“Well,” he sneered. “we’re trying to get to your ol’ pal Charlie. But the only way to get to Charlie? Take his precious angels away from him.”

"Hello?"

Holtzmann leaned over the bar, ordering a gin and tonic. Only seconds later, though, she felt a hand reach down and slap her ass. It didn’t take long for her to have the person in a chokehold. Gasping for air, he looked up at her with pleading eyes. “What do you say?” she purred to the man. He could barely utter the whisper of “I’m sorry,” gulping breaths as she let him fall to the ground.
Pressing on her ear piece, she took her drink from a very startled bartender. “Are you almost done yet, babe? I’m so bored and I’ve already had to take down like three different guys. I hate this place.”
Erin grinned, the little voice in her ear making her chuckle. "I didn't tell you that you had to stay down there, you know." She sang, her voice light. She had ventured to the upper level of the bar where a friend of hers lived. Well, friend was a strong word.

Erin bit her lip and smiled, unsure if it was a genuine invitation or merely out of pity. Nevertheless, she squeezed through the opening past Holtzmann and entered the room.
She stood awkwardly for a moment before taking a seat on the edge of her bed, hands folding and resting in her lap. Erin’s eyes drifted up and locked onto Holtzmann’s.
“So, um..” She cleared her throat. “Are you, like…” She flexed her fingers and shifted her body slightly. “Are you mad at me?”
Holtzmann stood there and stared down at Erin. Her arms crossed, and a curious expression written all over her face. She watched every single move Erin made and quite frankly, she was a master in body language when it came to the other scientist.
“Me? Mad?” Holtz pursed her lips together. And then it hit her. Yes. Yes she was a little mad. A lot mad actually.
The blonde tilted her head.
“Well I don’t think there is anything to be mad about…I…we aren’t together so your comment, no matter how insensitive it was, doesn’t matter does it?” Holtz huffed.
And there it was. Holtzmann was usually really good about hiding her feelings. But not when it came to Erin. And just like that, the hurt and anger faded away because she stared down at Erin, looked into those puppy dog eyes, and melted.
“I just thought that…I just really thought we were….” Holtzmann struggled to speak. She was getting emotional.
Holtzmann's words, although she expected them, still stung. It hadnt occured to her that she was being insensitive. She thought they were just joking around. Erin could feel moisture start to fill her eyes, but she blinked them back as much as she could manage.
She could tell the other woman was having troubled getting her words out, and it made her throat go dry.
Had Erin gotten the wrong impression from their friendship? Had she somehow convinced herself that there was nothing between them? Erin felt like an idiot. Her stomach turned and she wrapped her arms over her torso.
She knew she had feelings for her. It was hard to ignore. The late night's spent talking and falling asleep next to eachother, waking up with limbs tangled together. She had ignored the fact that yes, she loves Jillian Holtzmann. Whatever that meant.
"I didn't know... That you felt that way..." She sniffled, avoiding eye contact. "Too."

Erin's eyes drifted up and locked onto Holtzmann's.
"So, um.." She cleared her throat. "Are you, like..." She flexed her fingers and shifted her body slightly. "Are you mad at me?"
Holtzmann kicked her big boots off by the end of her bed and huffed a little. Once she took the massive rubber boots off, her feet disappeared into these petite little things and it took a couple of inches away from her height in general.
She was feeling a little….salty. Just a little.
Erin had denied they were dating and that made her feel slightly….rejected.
The blonde ran her leather glove covered fingers through her blonde locks, moving the huge curl that rested between her eyebrows way to the back of her head, only to watch it swoop back in front. She took her rather interesting looking glasses off and sat there like a child who had been sent to their room. Erin most certainly did not need to try and talk herself out of this one.
Holtzmann, the usually easy going woman, was quite upset at what had happened only an hour previously. Maybe they weren’t dating. But they most certainly were not just friends. They had spent countless nights in the same bed, and Holtz knew that to be fact.
Erin had just finished the last chapter in a book she’d been working in finishing for the last few months when she heard a sigh from the room next to her. She closed the book and tossed it aside.
Of course it had come from Holtzmann’s room. Erin had had an odd feeling in her stomach for the last hour, like she had done something wrong. It wasnt until now that she had considered the possibility of her words making an impact on the other woman. From Erin’s perspective, it had been a joke. From friend to friend. Clearly that wasn’t a universal feeling.
She stood up from her desk chair and looked in the mirror. She ran a hand through her hair and let out a long breath. /Alright Erin, lets get this over with./
Quietly, as to not disturb the other women, she tapped on Holtzmann’s door, noticing it push open slightly before her. She peered her nose in gently. “Holtz? You in here?”
Holtz stiffened her posture immediately when she heard the light tap on the door. Some kind of sound left her mouth. A mix between startled and “oh no”. But before she could refuse Erin to enter, she saw that beautiful face of hers poke in and obviously, it made her melt because her shoulders slouched back down to a relaxed, dreamy Holtzmann state. She sighed again, this time rolling her eyes at herself.
“If I say no I doubt you will believe me.” Holtz spoke softly, as usual. But clear.
Holtzmann stood up, soft patters against the floor as her feet took her to the door. Standing right in front of Erin.
“I uh…I actually think…it might not be a good idea for you to err..be in here…right now.” Holtzmann faked a cough. “Think I may have…huffed a bit too much of that concoction from earlier. Little sick now.” Holtzmann fibbed, and put her arm against the door frame, blocking Erin from entering any further. The obvious height difference even more apparent because her boots were off.
“Wouldn’t want you to catch anything.” She faked another cough, and the blonde cleared her throat. Eyes locked on the other woman’s.
Erin smirked at the joke, not realizing in the moment that it wasnt meant as lightheartedly as she had expected. Her eyes were locked on the blonde as she made her way closer, and Erin was prepared to step inside as the shorter woman instead blocked her way.
Erin took a small step back in surprise, her eyebrows furrowing at the coughs the blonde was forcing out. "Funny." Erin shuffled her weight around awkwardly. "I didnt hear any coughs earlier." Her eyes bore down onto Holtzmann, silently willing the engineer to allow her in so they could talk.
"I guess I'll just..." She took in a breath and scratched the back of her neck. In lue of the rest of her sentence she just motioned behind herself.
"Feel better, I guess."
