The belle of any ball, Anderson, Andy, was one of the sweetest and most lovable girls in her small hometown. She did community service, interned at her old high school twice a week and spent her weekends up in the library reading the fantasies of some story tale. Andy was an all-around over-acheiver, but her parents were very poor and didn't have the money to send her away to a fancy college. Andy was okay with it, she accepted the fact she would have to stay in her small town for a bit longer and made the most out of the situation.

When the government came up with the ploy of saving one family member Andy instantly backed down. She had her two loving parents and little brother who would be much better suited in this "new world" that was soon to come. However, her parents and brother all decieded that the new world would need more people like Andy. They didn't tell her this decision and one day the three of them just left. They were gone like the wind. Andy woke up in the morning and knew what they had done almost instantly. She crawled back into her bed and began to sob. It was a few hours before she realized what she had to do. Andy had to be strong. She picked herself up and started filling up an old backpack with supplies. She was a survivor. She could do this.

Andy set off for the safe house and kept to herself for most of the time. After the excruciating month of waiting and wondering what the world would be like after 'the end', she was released. Andy walked, no, ran away. As far as she could. She needed to get away from her home town, from her family's graves and from the memories. She found herself into the group called "The Remainders". Her old personality began to once again shine through and she was becoming herself again. She missed her family, but knew she was the survivor for a reason.

The biggest bad-ass known to mankind. He'll shoot you if you look at him wrong, and he'll make your life hell if you take a wrong step. But get on his good side and you'll be in the clear for a good while. Eddy Harrison, the self-proclaimed leader of the Endurance, was part of the government operations that planned the safe houses. For his work on the refuges both him and one other family member were allowed to find sanctuary. Good news for his son who was saved with his father, but it was unfortunate for Eddy's wife who was left alone. Eddy would have done anything to save his wife, even given up his spot in safety, but unfortunately the government officials made him pick between his wife and his son. Eddy's wife wouldn't hear of leaving their son out and took on the end of the world without coverage. Eddy thinks about her every minute of everyday, he can't help but think there was something else he could have done to save her. It didn't matter at this point, that was the past and the Endurance was the future.

Along with his son, Marshall, he gave himself the task of rebuilding society as he seemed fit. He was a strong leader and a good talker, but Marshall did most of the behind the scenes work; recruiting people with similar interests, finding sanctuaries to live in, and gathering supplies for their community. Since his son was busy working on Endurance related things, this gave Eddy a lot of time to think. Thinking was bad because his thoughts always went back to his wife.  Eddy wasn't weak, if shit had to get done, he could get it done, but the mere mention of his wife would bring him to his knees. 

Eddy knew how to woo a crowd and persuade them, he didn't know much about why the world ended or what was going to happen. He went with the flow of things and even thought he was proclaimed 'leader' it was his son who was doing most of the work. Either way people looked up and admired him. Especially a young girl, Charlie. He felt like a father figure to her and protected her, even if she was strong enough and didn't need it. He secretly hoped the girl and his son would settle their differences and become friends, if not more. Having Charlie apart of his family would be the best gift anyone could give.

Elliot was always good at noticing the little things about people. If they bit their lip, or had an accent, or smiled crookedly. He would watch the details that made people different, and espy how different one person was from everyone else. He was a gambler, and would note these tells with a certain silent delight, but he would also be fond of them. Just because they helped him win didn't mean he had to look down on them, and he didn't.

He didn't like to get involved in the politics of the Remainders, although lately the group had turned into nothing but politics. He didn't like watching them lie, over and over again. Elliot would lie when playing, but it was only for the game, and it was expected. He didn't like that the politicians were treating the leadership of the Remainders like it was a game.

He had joined the Remainders because the Endurance had seemed too cruel to him. He was no paragon of virtue, and was quite the ladies' man (how could he help himself when they were all so lovely and fidgety?), but he didn't appreciate disregard for others. He was well-liked in the Remainders for this, aside by those he'd beaten in some card game or other which tended to make them rather bitter, and was always easy to give out a compliment or two.

He'd had a small family, a sickly little sister who he'd always been quick to entertain but who had died before her seventh birthday and parents who had died within a year of each other more than ten years before the end. He felt a little lonely at times, but Elliot dealt with it - and he consoled himself with the fact that it meant when the end came there was no-one to get left behind.

That was the way Elliot lived, noticing the little things, in people and in life, which meant that the awful things were somehow less awful. He would always find something beautiful, and if he could he'd steal it for himself because he really wasn't perfect and he enjoyed keeping a little trove of lovely things. After all, he was the one who appreciated them most. He was the one who could see the beauty in this hideous new world.

Cori was the sort of girl who was always getting herself into trouble, who kept coming home in the middle of the night, often hanging off some guy or other. When she turned nineteen, her parents finally decided they'd had enough and kicked her out of the house.

She found herself her own flat and had only been living there two months when the news of the end broke out. She still retains the hope that her parents are still out there, alive and waiting for her, but keeps this to herself because she doesn't want to be accused of being naive. Cori is a lot of things, but innocent isn't one of them.

She joined the Remainders because she wanted things to be normal. She wanted to be able to make out with a boy without him pulling a knife on her because he thought it'd be fun. She wanted to feel safe again. She's been given the basic training so she can at least defend herself, and now she's not above sleeping with an Endurance guy for any information it might get her if it means the Remainders' cause is advanced more quickly.

A small part of her is curled up in the fetal position, sobbing, but on the outside she always endeavours to appear sultry and collected - and she does a damn good job of it.

Charlie was the older sister to two hyperactive boys, and from her thirteenth birthday onwards, she spent most of the time  looking after both them and herself as their parents were away. She's used to things being out of control and knows how to deal with chaos. She's the most determined girl you'll ever meet and that's why it was her who lived - she would have sacrificed herself for her brothers in an instant but she was never given that choice.

Charlie is small - but underestimating her could prove fatal. She's part of the Endurance but she's honourable enough that she'll never be corrupted and, despite her height, intimidating enough that no-one will try. Call her Charlotte and she'll never forgive you, insult her size and she'll punch your lights out, Charlie knows exactly what she wants in life - and it's for people to stop acting like idiots.

After the end, Charlie survived on her own by sheer strength of will before coming across an Endurance agent. She become something of Mr. Harrison's favourite, and she has a certain fondness for him, and because of this Marshall can't stand her. He's not stupid and won't try anything on her, partly because his father might notice, but mostly because he's wary of the tiny girl.

Charlie is unaware of the rot seeping through the Endurance but suspects something shifty is going on. She'll fight it when she finds it, and as always she'll be keeping her head as everyone else goes insane.

Savannah was one of the first Endurance recruits and she's not above using that status to get the last word in an argument - and Savannah gets in a lot of arguments. If she likes you, she'll be the sweetest girl you'll ever meet - but you have to be careful not to upset her or she won't rest until she gets her revenge. Savannah likes to think of herself as "walking karma" and payback is a very big deal for her.

Savannah was the darling of her family, the precious little girl that her parents had always wanted. She was spoilt by her parents and babied by her older brother, and she'd adapted the role of being the adorable daughter perfectly. She threw occasional temper tantrums when she didn't get her way, but she always managed to play them off with a tear-streaked apology. Her family would have died to protect her - and they did.

She still feels guilty about her family's death, but is too scared of dying herself to wish she could have taken their places. She will make friends with any newcomers quickly, discarding them if they are too boring and bringing down retribution if they upset her, but she doesn't really have anyone close to her in the Endurance, and has never even talked to any of the Remainders.

Although she'd never admit it, Savannah is lonely - but mention the idea to her and she'll move hell and high water in her attempts to punish you.

Handsome, business extraordinare, before the end of the world Mason was climbing the ladder of success and was on his way to the top. Mason may have been a good business corporation leader, but he wasn't a good man. He wasn't afraid to step on the little people and crush dreams on the way up. His dashing good looks and witty remarks kept him likable for just as long as he needed to be. Once he got where he wanted, everyone not necessary for further advancement was out of his mind. No, Mason never remembered the little people.

Mason lived in a little apartment, alone. His parents had died a few years back and he had no one. No one that he cared about, no one that cared about him. He was okay with it though, he had his money, his gadgets and was soon to have an iPhone 5. When the world ended all of that became useless. He lashed out against everyone and everything, especially himself.

Mason joined The Endurance out of spite. He continuously struggles against Marshall for power and finds himself talking shit on him whenever he can, to whoever will listen. Deep down Mason is just an angry man with a bad attitude. He's not afraid to speak his mind, even if it's rude, especially if it's rude. He secretly carries some of his electronics around, even though they're useless.

Joey wasn't the most outgoing kid, heck, the teachers barely knew his name. He didn't talk unless spoken to and he never made a scene. Joey had an older brother who was perfect. His brother was homecoming king, all-around good guy and was currently a successful business CEO. Joey felt so inferior, especially since his parents gave all their love and affection to his brother.

A month or so before the end Joey's brother was screwed over in a business venture which led to him losing everything. Joey wasn't happy for his brother, but he definitely felt a bit better about himself. Just as he started getting his insecurities in check his brother committed suicide. His brother had lost more than he let on and shot a bullet through his brain.  Joey was devastated and felt horrible because his brother's loss of both business and life gave Joey hope for a future where he wouldn't always be inferior. His hope eventually turned to guilt. Guilt that he decided to project on his body with the numerous tattoos. 

Joey joined the Remainders in hope that eventually they could help him get over his guilt. He's not very social and stays to himself, but once you get him talking he's an open book. Joey just wants to love and be loved, but all his life he's never had the chance.

Artie's family consisted of just his Mom and his Dad. Artie wasn't particularly close to his mother. He loved her, and he knew she cared deeply about him, but that was it. His dad on the other hand meant the world to him. They were so similar, both artists. He was a very independent guy and spent most of his time locked in the basement working on a new piece of art, but his Dad was always allowed to come and give his two cents. When the time came to choose the survivor, Artie was the only choice. He appreciated the sentiment and knows in his heart that they'll always be with him.

When Artie heard about the Remainders and their desire for a future filled with the culture and artistic movements of the past he knew he wanted to join. It was important to him to preserve what he could of the past, even if just in his memory. While in the Remainder's he's been trying to recreate some of the lost pieces of art, such as the Mona Lisa, Scream, Starry Night, etc. The original's may be lost, but he strives to pay a tribute to all the greats.

She used to write, all the time. There was nothing in life that she enjoyed more. It was her escape, her passion. Laney Madison was the youngest and most creative child in her family of eight. Five rowdy boys, two loving parents, and one delicate Laney. She was the pride of her family, always calming the boys down and making her parents proud. Laney was balanced in every sense. She was good in school, good in athletics, and good in creativity. But the most of all she was humble and that's why her family didn't hesitate to give her a chance at survival.

  Laney's response to her familiy's choice was nothing less than shocked. She never expected to be the one allowed to survive and she instantly gave up the opportunity. However, her family refused to budge on their decision and sent Laney off to the safe house. When taking refuge, Laney spent the entire time writing poetry. Mostly about her family, a little bit about the end of the world. She tried to replicate the styles of famous poets and usually stayed to herself. 

The entire time she was in the safe house she heard rumors of what was to be known as "The Remainders", these people were supposedly planning on rebuilding society, but what drew her in was the thriving culture aspect. That's what she wanted, that's what she needed.

Marshall Harrison wasn't always bad. When he was younger he used to have a puppy and he played with legos and never worried about anything. He was naive and young; not a care in the world. However, all kids grow up.  He became ruthless, angry, mean, and just an all-around bad guy.

Marshall's father had some high-end government job so he was always out and about working on different projects; his mother was a stay-at-home mom, always trying to take care of him. Marshall didn't get along well with his mother. She smothered  him with affection, she cared too much ... and in the end she was left to die because she cared for her boys more than her own well-being. 

Marshall runs the Endurance; no matter what anyone says he's the man that people listen to. Sure, his dad has the title of leader, but he won't for much longer. Mr. Harrison is getting old, and one of these days all the power will be in Marshall's hands.

Marshall intimidates, Mr. Harrison is the face of the Endurance, and Marshall's best friend Q is his lackey. The trio work well together - but then there's Charlie. Marshall hates the girl, she's a coarse, rude girl who spends all her time sucking up to Marshall's father. Marshall has vowed to crush the girl sooner rather than later. Inside he is slightly insecure about his relationship with his father, but outside he shows no mercy.

Marshall was tough, and people not only respected him, but feared him. He liked the way power felt and vowed to stay on top, no matter what it took. Marshall wasn't anything like his father when it came to leadership. He was a tyrant, a dictator, but he also knew how to hide it well. Sly and cunning, Marshall had everyone fooled into thinking he was a good lackey to his dad, when in reality he was the worst thing that could ever happen to the Endurance.

strong-willed - determined to do something even if other people advise against it

Teagan isn't going to give up. All her life she had to fight to survive - leukemia's a bitch. She was diagnosed with the cancer when she was only seven years old. Teagan had a rough life, not just because of the leukemia, but because her parents were both killed in a plane crash when she was 13. Her sister who was barely old enough to take care of herself instantly became a teen-mom. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the price of life was high, but the sisters found ways to survive. Thank God Teagan became cancer-free at the age of 16, just before the world began to crumble.

Teagan's sister wanted to give Teagan a chance to live without having to worry about her health. That's why when the time came to have only one survivor for the Rovern's, Teagan was given the opportunity. Teagan misses her sister, more than anything, but appreciates what she did everyday and makes sure not to waste a second of the life she was given.

Teagan was recruited into the Endurance by Marshall because her parents had some type of connection with the Harrison family. She's still not completely sure what she got herself into, but hell if she questions the stability that the Endurance gives her. She's happy being with the group and tries her best to make a bad situation good. Her optimism is looked greatly upon in the group and she's a nice asset.

Artistic, dramatic and eccentric, Beau is nothing like the rest of The Endurance. He speaks his mind and isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes. Beau's a strong man with great ideas, but he is always overshadowed by the more important men in the group. Although stubborn, Beau has learned to keep his opinions to himself even if he knows he's right."Pick your battles" his father would always say. 

His father, how he missed him dearly, sacrificed his life so Beau could live. It was always just Beau and his dad. Beau's mother walked out on him after he was born and his dad was his support system. Always enforcing the right ideals into his son, he just wanted what was best for him. His father was a good man and Beau took after his father.

Truthfully, Beau would thrive in a society like The Remainders. As much as he'd love to walk away from The Endurance he knows that's not possible. They'd hunt him down and kill him, or worse, they'd kill the people he cares about. Not like he cared about many people nowadays. The world was different, it was changing and try as he might to enjoy it, Beau couldn't adapt. He wanted his old life back, he wanted his dad back.

Robby's basically the definition of what an Endurance member should be. He's coarse, cruel and rude. He pities no one and doesn't take shit from anyone. He may be young, but he's strong: mentally and physically. He's newly friends with Marshall and could be seen as a good first mate, or strong-willed lackey.

Robby spends most of his time smoking. He's running out of cigarettes and will trade just about anything for another pack. He's stubborn and rude, but even more so if he hasn't smoked at least once or twice a day. The rest of the Endurance know that Robby isn't the best company. For the most part they let him do his own thing. When he's not smoking he's usually doing something crazy to get his mind off the nicotine.

Robby was the one picked for refuge out of his family simply because his younger brother wouldn't leave his parents. He was only 10 and couldn't imagine being on his own, so instead he chose to stay back with his parents and allow Robby to live. Robby was close with his brother and tried not to think about him much. The more he smoked and the more he got his hands in the Endurance's business the less he thought about the past.

Always a lone wolf, Devin never went out of his way to make friends. He kept to himself; not exactly shy, but definitely not friendly. Devin spent most of his time alone, never quite knowing what to do with all his free time. See some people beg for a little downtime, but Devin desired something to do, anything really. Then it hit him, almost like a ton of bricks, a sudden epiphany as some would call it. That's when he started drawing, painting, doodling, anything and everything that involved a writing utensil and paper. 

His mother died when he was 13, and it took 5 years for his father to die of a broken heart. Devin was on his own as soon as he became an adult. No family, no friends: alone. He never really thought himself alone though, he had his art. Devin found himself constantly inspired by everything. His parent's death, the anger he had tried to keep down and eventually the end of the world were all important factors that shaped not only who Devin was, but what his art was.

After the world had ended he hesitantly joined the Remainders. He was nervous about joining such a big group when all his life he had been alone. The only driving force was the hope that his art would be appreciated and enjoyed by others.
