Remmick likes to pretend he's humble, or can be, but in truth he is far from it. If someone tries to humble him for antagonistic purposes, he will let his pride answer quite meanly. However, if someone manages to humble him and it isn't solely to antagonize, but more like get him to understand something, he'll be more inclined to go along with it.
Human connection is a give and take. Hard truths, honesty, sometimes even humbling someone can be necessary in any type of relationship. He isn't above to learning something or being corrected that something he is doing isn't right. (Minus pretty much everything he does.)
Calling him a monster and the likes gets you the monster. Insisting there's humanity within him also gets you the monster. Walking in between gets you something more honest. He craves what he doesn't have (human connection) but also thrives on being what he is (a vampire).
Play your cards right and he may yield his stance and entertain your perspective long enough to figure out if it's one he should adopt or not.
Hear me out. We know the whole Remmick meets vampire/monster hunter, right? The other is capable, tracking down Remmick and either can keep up or is out of their league.
Okay. But here's an alt version for the modern folks: supernatural/paranormal investigator knows of tales about an ancient evil, a vampire, living in this abandoned property. goes to investigate.
Remmick is just, "Lol... the fuck?"
And they are like, "I am here to get evidence of a vampire. Are you the vampire the stories talk about?"
And he just presses the palms of his hands together in contemplation for a long ass moment before, "Oh. Okay, walk me through your thought process, yeah? Say you got your evidence. What then?"
They're like, "What do you mean?"
Remmick is just, "You get your evidence, meanin' there's a vampire here. You willingly came to a vampire's 'lair'. You think you'll just leave alive?"
And it goes from comedy to horror in less than 60 seconds.
I swear, modern Remmick just exists to mess with people like that. Screw competent hunter, give me mortal idiot that manages to make him laugh until he's a wheezing mess before he goes on a terror spree to scare them shitless.
This is probably not 100% canon to the lore of Sinners, but that's okay.
I imagine Remmick's bite doesn't work like a zombie bite by default. My interpretation, I lean towards it being he has to bite and it has to be fatal.
If he's real careful not to rupture a vein or bite out a whole chunk, make someone bleed out and what not, they won't be turned. If he kills them after biting them, feeds on them until they are dead, etc. they will become a thrall. Giving his own blood to someone helps make them a more potent vampire. Not just a thrall in the hive, but also not on his level of vampirism since he is so old and experienced. But it'll make them more powerful and durable because he's sharing himself with them. A newly turned thrall can burn up in the sun, but someone he gives blood to has a better chance at surviving the burning while seeking shelter.
Is this so I can write Remmick biting people passionately? Absolutely. I don't want to dismiss the hive or that it's very zombie virus-like, but I also can see him as someone that's like, 'my love language is biting uwu'. There's a lot of symbolism for passion in biting/consuming a lover, especially with vampires, and I wanted to implement that without straying too far from Sinners lore.
Biting lightly or harshly, leaving temporary and permanent marks alike, feeling someone's weaker body in his jaws, teasing them with his fangs, a lot of oral fixations when it comes to intimacy. Because it also isn't solely about the fangs and biting, but also taste and taking them into himself. Whether that means blood, saliva, going down on his partner, etc. Vampires tend to be poetic and passionate, even this jackass doesn't fully escape aspects of that even if he is a much more crude and less suave than other vampire media. I mean, let's not forget, he's pathetic.

More of my kwamis! I really struggled with Pyrro’s colors.

Questions for Immortals/Ancients. @keybladeseeker0
"Lucky me, I got three."
🎁Name one thing that never gets old or loses its charm for you.
"People or music, it's a tie."
A truth. Look at that. Not the whole truth, but something surprisingly close. The real answer would be something like 'stories'. His, others. But saying 'people' and 'music' carries that unspoken truth.
💾Do you ever have trouble with new technology?
"No, I find people are very helpful if I smile real nice." Remmick grinned, showing off his set of fangs. Real nice once he sinks his teeth into them and makes them do whatever he needs them to. He could learn, he certainly has the time for it.
💕Do you think two immortals could handle one another’s company forever?
"I think that depends on the immortals, darlin'. Some folks like to spend their days and nights with another. Some don't. I'm always with my immortals, even at a distance. Can't say I'm ever really alone." He considered the inquiry. He liked his personal time, being alone but connected. However, he also tended to stick close when he was interested in someone.
Remmick was aware there were immortal beings that lived isolated. Fae-folk that left their courts, witches in their quaint cabins. He has done his time being alone. Together with his hive was a constant, but he was still alone. He was still disappointed by not having others that understood and didn't just parrot his emotions or experiences back to him.

Questions for Immortals/Ancients. @anthologicals
🥀Do you create bonds with mortals or avoid getting attached?
"'Course, I do, darlin'. I get attached to plenty of people."
Liar.
He treats people of interest like they are something to polish and see if they are worth keeping. He has met many fun people that kept him entertained or fed his curious nature, but none that managed to alleviate that nagging feeling that festered deeper within.
There's a craving to know and be known, but he doesn't let the latter happen easily. He doesn't even think he's doing it, either. Old walls built up of the stone his little farmhouse once was made by. He thinks that by being himself and answering the common questions, along with a deep one now and then, that he's getting attached. That he is capable of it.
Truth is, no one really know if he is anymore.
Remmick fancies himself many things but even that isn't something he could answer with complete honesty. It takes being able to look deeply at oneself and he has long ago justified his own perception to excuse his actions.
He avoids not out of choice, not with awareness, but because it's never enough. It's. Never. Enough. He's looking, searching, screaming and looking for a soul that can scream back in his lonely language. There are ways to change this, but he won't. He can't. He's old and has gotten by with this way of thinking, this way of believing things are the way that they are.
He thinks because he becomes bonded with those he bites, that they exist as a hive, that of course they know me and we're all attached. As if he isn't capable of squirreling away information from them. Projecting the ideal version of himself that fits the narrative in his head and not what he actually is. What he has become.
"Shoot, ain't we attached? Thinkin' I may need to make some adjustments if you don't agree." And there it is; tone friendly, a threat veiled to pushed someone to back down and preserve his illusion.
