everytime i hear someone say pride month "isn't necessary" anymore i think about this girl i was friends with in high school who was pretty openly bisexual (and maybe questioning transgender?) and all of her friends were eccentric queer theater kids, and then one day she just stopped talking to all of us and no one heard from her for weeks, and eventually we found out she went deep back into the closet because she was scared of her aggressively homophobic family finding out that she was hanging out with us and being outed. the last time i saw her she had drastically changed her fashion style to be significantly more feminine and "basic" than before and wouldn't even make eye contact with me. it's been several years but i genuinely still think about her a lot and hope she's doing okay

I love this post because the replies are like "for anyone who doesn't know what nestle did, they benefited from [insert human rights violation here]" but nestle has done SO many fucked up things you get a different topic in every comment
