Since we've never seen any guides for this that isn't connected to paromancy, we figured that hey! Maybe we should be the first that we know of! Especially after being encouraged by a system server we're in.
So, specifically for how we do it, it's heavily based in daydreams. So I'm sorry if you have aphantasia or otherwise can't daydream, this guide won't be helpful to you. But hopefully this may encourage others to write their own guides based on their own methods!
Firstly! An appearance has got to be constructed! As specific as you need in order to have a really good idea of what they would look like in situations. Sometimes we use the appearance of fictional characters as a base, or picrews and such in headmate packs. I'm not gonna assume species, but essentially you'll want to create something within your mind that you can puppet around.
We also insert traits at around this time. Like, imagining us lifting up the face or opening up the chest to insert specific traits that we want into our headmate. Other traits will come with time, but this is what we go in terms of the base. Like a baby soul!
Once you're successful, you'll have a headmate! Kinda. They're probably not sentient yet. However you probably can puppet them around like they can think! And that's essentially what we're gonna do next.
Imagine them in various daydreams in as many situations as possible. Don't be afraid to go light, or dark, or silly, or serious! We find that as much variety as we can helps. And this is generally the longest step.
Essentially, puppet them around until you start to feel any sort of feeling or opinion in that headmate. It may be as simple as "No." in response to what you're trying to puppet them to do in that moment, or them in a daydream situation stating "I like the blue one." and such. You want to encourage these responses as much as you can. Talk to them! Puppet them how they want.
Their responses will grow, until eventually the daydreams are a collaborative project! With them equally contributing. And with this, comes the last step.
Confidence building.
Although more experienced in the innerworld, they may feel akin to a newborn baby deer in the outterworld. And so, they may need to be pushed some. Put them in control in social situations you know are safe, such as making them talk in safe discord servers. And you play an important role in this too! You gotta be both their cheerleader, and advisor. Encouraging them to talk, and giving them ideas on what to talk about. If they don't know how to respond to a person, give them your advice and let them make their choice. After a bit of time, they'll feel more stable and confident in the outterworld too.
And then, there you have it! A headmate that has been created, willed into existence. A headmate who is seperate to you and is also equal to you. Hope you enjoy your new pal! And, feel free to send us questions either on this post or via our inbox.

willomancy tip: one way to help ensure your headmate won't fade away is to solidly connect them to the world outside your mind and have them be confident in it.
you may need to act like a cheerleader, and that is perfectly fine. but yes, having your created headmate have at least one solid external attachment can be very helpful in preventing fading! that's our recipe for success. well, one part of it.
Putting yourself in stressful or overstimulating situations more consistently, learning how to truly zone out. Leaning into extremes, about how you feel and who you are.
Not every system has to have dissociative barriers or amnesia! But mentally detaching yourself from your physical body can certainly Help you form headmates. If you learn to look in the mirror and not really identify with the person you see, it makes it easier to. Be someone else?
You cant really force Genuine dissociative barriers unless you have an abuser or someone working to program you or something. But if you want to get close enough, you could look into using those tactics on yourself? Or you could opt not to worry about that, and let the disconnect come naturally between headmates. Bc even if you do force yourself to develop some sort of dissociative disorder, theres no guarantee youll just start forming headmates, or that itll be easier that way. Its different for everyone.
Tldr, if its too complicated or doesnt sound like the type of system you want to be, you dont have to do the dissociation shit tbh. Just focus on how you Do want your system to be

anon here, do you know any tips to force plural yourself, and if so, could you share them
(Also just courtesy but could i dm you i need some extra info/a bit of a guide on fore pluraling.)
Forcepluraling yourself is far easier than forcepluraling someone else, imo. Id look into tulpamancy guides and willogenic community stuff. You can go the traditional route and force dissociation and then try to categorize yourself real hard. Or you can just have fun with it and pick out/make a few headmates to get started and fake it til you make it.
You may dm me, ofc, just keep in mind i get busy + am disabled so sometimes am not great at replying consistently. Ill do my best to give you pointers though
I have talked about this in greater depth on here before, but basically, the short(er) version is you have to make it super appealing. You gotta keep telling them about all the great parts, how comforting it can be, how freeing it is to be plural.
Make it appealing, and then make it Attainable. You can be plural. Anyone can be plural. Hey, i think you Are plural, actually. Yeah, i think so. Ive noticed this or that a few times. Oh, man, now that i think about it, youre Totally plural. Yeah, you should figure out who that other guy is. Really, itll be super worth it to establish some communication. Aw, man, its so exciting to have another system in my life :))
If youre looking for more of a dark cnc kink answer, the steps are more like. Uhh. Figure out if the person is into you/the kink. If so, proceed. And then u can try out encouraging disocciation, forcing specific roles or names upon them, asking for specific headmates. Making them be more proactive in their "sys discovery", having them document it more, use pk, document switches. Pressing for more information, and if they dont Know, pressing with more Education, so they can figure it Out
