Also the lyrics are kinda "shortened" in a way since the chorus isn't written down over and over again, [this being the ‘Rave, rave, rave’ part] but I think the song is one of the few that are almost 6 minutes long — Luan, notes from having listened to the song at the listening event.
HELAKKA’S NOTES:
This was pretty hard to translate, because this has some surface level Kalevala (Finnish poetry epic) and/or Finnish folklore references that just won't translate neatly. So, footnotes:
- Manala and Tuonela both mean underworld, but Tuonela is used in Kalevala and evokes certain images
- The lyrics do not use the Kalevala meter (trochaic tetrameter), but sort of reference it with the alliteration (first words of a line start with the same letter; this is famously used in Kalevala): Manalan mailla (in the land of the dead), Kalman katse (the look of Death), ovelta ovelle (from door to door)
