When I was younger, getting dressed used to be about blending in, but now I just like to have fun with my clothes! I thought the contrast between the more whimsical skirt and the shark tee in this outfit was cute.”

“Perhaps the star of the show is this beautiful jacket I thrifted from Karizma Vntage! I've had the opportunity to follow along and shop from her since she was selling out of her vintage bus in Bushwick— now she has a storefront in Dumbo y'all gotta check out. The rest of the outfit is miscellaneous pieces thrifted throughout the years. Two hats are better than one, vintage boxing shoes and little flower bag from Berlin (natürlich). What currently inspires my style is finding new ways to push my own boundaries.”

“My style is inspired by the queer rave scene, as well as streetwear, goth/punk aesthetic, Y2K/retro revival, and pop culture/music. Elements in my style such as leather jackets, bold make up, leather straps etc are influenced by the queer rave scene as well as the goth/punk aesthetic, which emphasize individualism and rebellion. The shiny/sparkly materials and nostalgic references link to the Y2K aesthetic.“

“I’m wearing an 80s kimono, vintage wool skirt (both from the Manhattan Vintage Show, Gentle Monster shades, and Timmy Woods hand carved fish purse from A Current Affair. Necklace is a vintage find from Etsy. I’m inspired by Carla Rockmore, India de Beaufort, and Advanced Style. They’re all incredible women with a strong sense of self who aren’t afraid to mix high and low, try different silhouettes, and just have FUN with fashion. I love going vintage shopping because it’s a chance to find something that outside of TikTok trends and I find garments to be typically much better constructed and higher quality. Life is too short to wear something everyone else is wearing!”

“All of my outfit is thrifted; the shorts are Cache, boots are Demonias, the corset doesn’t have a brand but I got it from Humana. My style is heavily inspired by the 2000s and I tend to lean towards a bit edgier though I definitely find myself jumping from very different aesthetics often. I’m most inspired by people who chose to wear their clothing in ways that wouldn’t naturally occur to me to put together, it opens my mind to more creative ways to think about clothing which makes the process of putting together an outfit more fun.”
