Deer Tick - "Dog Years"
I should file Deer Tick under those bands that I need to follow more closely, because any time they've crossed my radar or I've seen them, I love basically everything about them. And this one, recorded at Rhode Island's Big Nice studio, is no exception.
I also like the little "nice" at the end there. Check it out.
A coffee-after-coffee kind of morning.
Dinner has been had and I took care of the yard after two days of crazy wind and rain, so it’s time for a Porto. 'Cause that’s how we roll here.
Catching up
I kept my busy the past few days and actually finished writing a couple of things, including:
A review of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's show in Boston last week
A review of Paul McCartney's new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane
Spoiler alert on each: they were/are both great. Not necessarily what I wrote but the actual things they're about. Good stuff.
And for something you can actually use, here's a song by the Faces that's been hitting the spot for the past few days:

Just having a normal one over here.
This was a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon. Félicitations, PSG.
I should not have to do this on (checks date) May 30th.
Paul McCartney - The Boys of Dungeon Lane
It’s Friday night and there’s a new Paul McCartney album out in the world. Good times.
Folks, my algorithm is getting unhinged now.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - "Gila Monster"
If the band you like doesn't occasionally write and record a thrash metal concept album about man's destruction of the planet as hastened by witches summoning a monstrous fire-breathing dragon that besets eternal damnation upon all living things, I think it's fair to ask if that band is even trying. I mean come on now.
A little strumming for a Tuesday that turned into way too much.
I saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band the other night in Boston. And it was incredible, of course, to the point that I've had trouble writing a full review. I might do that still, but in the meantime, a transcription of what he said at the top of the show:
“We begin tonight with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for an end to this conflict and for their safe return.
“The E Street Band is here tonight in celebration and defense of the American ideals and values that have sustained our country for 250 years. We are here to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll in these trouble times. Our democracy, our constitution, our rule of law are being challenged right now, as never before, by a reckless, racist, incompetent, treasonous president and his ship of fools administration.
“So tonight we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, truth over lies, unity over division and peace over WAR.”
MAQUINA., com Dame Area - "dança"
New single from what has quickly become one of my favorite bands. Enjoy.
Mdou Moctar - "Tarhatazed"
Here's something I didn't know I needed in my life until today.

Some mornings are very busy, and some mornings I catch myself watching video after video of oversized trucks get destroyed by bridges.
It is very hot out there, especially for four-legged 90 lb. dudes covered in black fur.
