Seeing the obvious pain flashing through his face, she began digging through her bag for some pain medication before turning to him again. âYou came to?â Questioned rhetorically before she pulled out what she was looking for; a water bottle and some tablets. she combined the two, before closing the lid and shaking it lightly.Â
At his question, she furrowed her brows at his lack of memory. âI was going to ask you the very same thing,â she digressed, âIâm not sure..I saw your fall but not the reason for it.â She eyed him suspiciously before lowering her head to hide her smirk, it was a clever thing to say even in a situation such as this but showing him a reaction felt like encouragement.
âI think this is your phone, I found it right before I found you.â Handing it over, she supported his back as his balance seemed to threaten a fall before he leaned against the tree.Â
âWill ya stop joking for a minute?â She inquired handing him the water bottle, âItâll taste a bit odd, but I donât have any fruit juice on me so I added something that can give you enough to stabilize you if you havenât eaten or drank anything in a few hoursâŚâ Which she safely assumed from his current form that he hadnât. Gently, she moved hair out of his face that seemed stuck there from sweat and pulled out a towel from her bag patting him gently. âDrink up, and shut upâŚyou need your energy.â She whispered gently, remembering trainee days where this would occur daily and how often she would be around to have to take care of the boys. âWhy would Charoen mind?â She inquired raising her eyebrows, what did he know?Â
The pain in his nose had him reaching up to touch it and he felt a little blood on the bridge of the nose, but luckily not coming out of his nostrils. He let out a small huff of relief-- no broken nose. Cindyâs voice swirled in his mind again and he tried his best to turn his head to look at her, but lifting his head was proving more of a challenge than he was willing to vocally admit.
âOh you know,â he huffed. âPromotion season. Being busy and passing out seem to go hand-in-hand.â his voice was husky and strained. He heard the sound of water being shaken and when he looked over she had pressed the bottle into his hand. His brows arched but he took it with a mumbled âthank youâ.
He put the water to his lips and immediately recoiled from the bottle. His tongue stuck out and a loud âBlaugh!â barked out from his mouth. âWhat the heck?!â he wheezed in English as he brought the back of his hand to catch the dribble from his chin. âWhat is this?â he asked before taking another drink. The second take was a lot easier than the first now that he knew what to expect. He felt his stomach churn and heard it groan as it took on the supplements.Â
âOh nothing,â he sighed as he pulled the bottle from his lips, âI donât know anything.â His lips curled into a smile behind the bottle.
He looked down at the cellphone that she had held out to him and at first he didnât seem to recognize it. His hands shook a little from the effort of simply raising his arms as he reached for the phone. He pushed the power button and it showed his now playing song that had been paused during the fall. He pulled his earbuds out and stuffed them into his pockets along with his freshly cracked and chipped phone.Â
âThank you,â he said. He rose his head to meet her eyes through the shaggy mess of his hair his eyes were tired but genuine. âReally. I donât know what would have happened if you hadnât found me.â He wrung his hands around the water bottle. âWhat are you doing out here this late?â
