Just posted this weird, career-sabotaging #goldenfeelings DJ mix I made for @meuhyeahyeah awhile back onto Mixcloud (link to part one of two in bio). It makes zero sense, unless you know me well (@shelleyginkgo), in which case it's all pretty obvious. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it.

Cat is out of the bag: I'm starting a new label/booking concern/etc (with a little help from @milovachan) called IMPERMANENT. First batch of releases will come late this year/ early next, but keep an eye out, as we'll be promoting a ton of events in Portland in coming months. #IMPERMANENT

Well, only one of my reviews made it into the current print issue of Under The Radar, but if it had to be just one, at least it's the one for the great new joint by the homie @lol_halol.

#NowSpinning "Reuben at Foxy's", some gold found hidden in a row of generic classical LPs. This is raw af private-press calypso, with some occasional soulish moves, an incredible rewrite of "Living for the City" called "His Heart is Black", and TWO songs with "pussy" double entendres. It gets wild and in-the-red, and there all kinds of goofy vocal extrapolations (including Donald Duck noises). No info on back cover, no insert. Supposedly only 100 made. Grant Green and Bernard "Pretty" Purdie at just about the top of their game, and that ain't saying nothing. The track "Sweetheart" (not featured here) is bursting at the seams with breaks. #NowSpinning Dropped into @woodennickelrecords in Fort Wayne towards the end of this last @skinlies tour and gripped this one on the cheap. Not sure why Urszula D. isn't more on the weirdo radar... this record is just as insidiously fucked as a lotta Annette Peacock's biz, and some of the vox experiments even dance on the edge of Joan La Barbara territory, all while working well within a goofy coke-fusion framework.
