In the introduction, we can see the different elves

And one particular elf stands out

He has wings! He’s probably a sky elf because it would make the most sense for them to be able to fly.

One could argue that the wings are just part of the outfit, but we also see other elves with wings in the background, so they must serve a purpose

His staff looks like this:

But when he uses it, it changes to look like this:

Which is suspiciously the same exact shape as this guy’s staff, right in the center

So how could he be alive after a thousand years, you ask? Well, let’s look at this scene:

Viren is shown here, completely in the dark throughout the entire scene. Now there’s a reason they would have chosen not to show Virin in the light, likely because there’s something about him they didn’t want us to see.

In this picture, his hair looks suspiciously white almost like an old man’s. And it can’t be the lightning. Viren’s hair is dark brown. Dark hair in dark lighting does not look white. 

After Viren opens his secret butterfly cabinet and this little guy lands on his hand, he says “A volunteer. How eager.” And then they cut to this door to show he’s doing some magic:

And since we all know that dark magic only works by taking the essence of other magical beings, we know that little butterfly is toast, confirmed by this shot:

They then cut to Viren leaving the room, once again, shown in the light:
