THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: TRUE CIRCUS AU

A while back I threw out some ideas for The Amazing Digital Circus if it were an actual circus. I think now I have a more concrete idea for what could be an AU. I’ve even been toying with the idea of writing a fic for it. But with that said, here are some designs and fleshed-out roles for Gangle and Jax, the dynamic duo! If any of this info contradicts what I wrote in that previous post, ehh just disregard the old stuff.

Title is dumb, I know. I just can't get out of my head the idea of Caine running his place like an actual circus instead of just fucking around with the suggestion box. Like, the whole crew played out this entire intro in the first episode, but for who? For what? Why even be a circus?

Basically: Every human who ends up in the circus is assigned a role based on their gimmick that they're forced to play out. Some are acrobats, some are freaks, some are magicians or merely comedians. Whenever it's time to perform, they travel to different worlds to provide entertainment to candy kingdoms and softball stadiums alike. In this AU, Caine still loves his humans, but he has a harder time taking "no" for an answer. Any person who refuses to play their part is subject to any unique brand of torture. And as usual, everyone hates it! Here are all the cast members' roles:

Gangle: A trapezist; sometime she's the acrobat, sometimes she's the swings. She's often paired with Jax in their iconic double acts. When they're not on the trapeze, Jax will also juggle her ribbons and masks around, much to the audience's delight and Gangle's terror.

Zooble: A freakshow attraction; their main thing is slapstick humor, where they'll have their limbs scatter about and wreak havoc on themselves and others. After shows, audience members will ask for caricature drawings of them and autographed pictures. As much as they hate it, they're really popular with little kids.

Kinger: At the Amazing Digital Circus, the crew will sometimes act out scenes in short plays written by Caine (with occasional suggestions from the crew themselves). Whenever there is one, Kinger will play the role of the kind-hearted yet bumbling idiot ruler, who initiates the story. Otherwise, he's way past his prime, and thus doesn't appear in shows that often anymore.

Ragatha: A lion tamer of sorts; she has a whole menagerie of stuffed animals that she has perform tricks for the audience. Caine pressures her to have them do more risky, eye-catching tricks, but Ragatha keeps making excuses not to. In plays, she may either act as a damsel in distress or as one of the heroes.

Jax: With the infinite pocket on his overalls, Jax can pull out any range of tools that he uses to make butt monkeys out of everyone else: car horns, slingshots, guns, you name it. After shows, he'll make balloon animals for the kids and charge them for ludicrous prices. In plays, he acts the part of the big bad, who in the end is defeated by...

Pomni: The magician. She's beloved for her ability to change into different costumes and forms when she pulls her jester's hat over her body. It's rumored that the hat is a portal to her own secret wardrobe that even Caine can't enter on his own. She sometimes features in double acts with Ragatha, pretending to be a unicorn for her to ride.
