You’re in his DMs, I’m in his moving castle victimizing his fire demon and apprentice with my cleaning skills. We are not the same.
so they put up these new signs at the ima and they make the whole thing feel very alice in wonderland kind of
but the ones with words on them are really great
Literally, my internal monologue when I’m outside.
friendship is when you hear the stupidest most annoying thing you've experienced in your life then immediately share it with everyone like
i hope nintendo realizes i would actually re-buy this game if they re-released it
no joke- game preservation is a HUGE concern and very few people take it seriously if it wasnt for re-releases and the virtual console how difficult would it be to take someone who is 12 and show them original mario bros so they can experience the game that launched a massive franchise. same thing with the original final fantasy, the original zelda, the original pikmin, the original metroid- all franchises that are still alive and still expected to draw in new fans into the playerbase as evidenced by such things as smash brothers, where half the lineup is from games you literally cant play without a time machine, thousands of dollars on ebay, or a lot of piracy consider games that were ONLY accessible through the wii virtual console, which can now only be played so long as you physically have the wii that you downloaded it onto as its impossible to download again now that support has been ended years ago and its far from just nintendo, if it wasnt for archived copies hoarded by pirates theres a dearth of gaming history that would be completely inaccessible to people today, much less the future, and it goes far beyond being confused why theres so many people who love sonic the hedgehog because you only know the last 15 years of sonic games that had, what, two good games and you dont know the context of the original games in the 90s that still have special places in peoples hearts
The gaming industry is beginning to eat itself and it’s honestly really depressing to watch.
(Well, I say “beginning.” It’s more like it’s finally reaping the rancid harvest that it’s been sowing for years.)

You know what the second I stopped saying “I wish I had a friend who-“ and started being “the friend who-“ my life has gotten 100% more fulfilling
No legitimately. I have a tea table in my room for when friends can come over again. Most of my friends have a key to the back door in my room. I make my friends sweaters and buy things they mention they want. I send handwritten letters in the mail to my friend who lives a block away. I annotate poetry books and give them as gifts when it’s not even a holiday. I keep extra gloves in my purse and jackets in my car.
I’m not trying to be like “ohoho look at me I’m such a good friend”, I’m saying the second I stopped going “I wish I had friends who would invite me to tea parties” and just. hosted the tea parties myself? I still got to do the thing. I still got to see my friends. I still got to be happy with them.
I don’t think it’s about who does it, I think it’s just the genuine act of caring for people, and giving a little light to the environments you’re in.
Okay. Apparently I’m not done talking about this.
It’s a lot of energy, I get that. Especially if you’re putting in all this effort, but not getting any back.
But I think that’s the reason no one does it. I mean we’re so worried we’ll start doing all these things and our friends won’t like it or won’t be into it, so we just don’t.
Only last week my friend messaged me, asking if I wanted to go stargazing with her. When I forget about our weekly virtual tea party, another friend called me to ask if I wanted them to host it this week.
I’ve been invited on hikes and picnics and pie making competitions over zoom, and it all sort of started with me going out of my way to be “that friend”.
I genuinely believe that the easiest answer to “how do I get friends like that?” Is to be one. In most cases, everyone else just follows by example, because they aren’t worried they’ll be wasting time and energy anymore.
my thoughts are like a clearance sale
once it's gone it's gone
If you need me I’ll be in the bath watching lava on my television
“sigh…. this extremely hot water will have to do”
THOT! THOT!
OOH, WE GOT IT!
THOT! THOT!
HEY, WE GOT IT!
THOT! THOT!
SAY, WE GOT IT!
THOT CHOCOLATE!

日常 (Nichijou), Keiichi Arawi
pets sigh so dramatically for little creatures that have nothing to do all day
1. She's a woman 2. She's from a poor, rural background 3. Her style has "low-class" connotations
There’s a reason a sewing kit includes scissors, a wood shop has a saw, and a kitchen is full of knives. In order to build something, to create something on purpose, you have to be prepared to cut away what’s extra. A bolt of cloth does not a blanket make, a piece of wood a shelf, nor a loaf of bread a sandwich. When you snip off frayed bits of string, cut the wood into shape, or slice the end off a loaf of bread you are creating, with the act of removal, something closer to what you desire.
Now let’s say you’re not sewing a blanket, you’re not building a shelf, not making a sandwich. Let’s say you’re crafting a life in which you are happy. You will end up removing things. You’ll leave partners, stop talking to family members, let go of friends. You’ll move apartments, lose jobs, change wardrobes. And you will feel their absence. You’ll look at the scraps of cloth, the odd angles of wood, the stale end of the loaf. But that cloth couldn’t keep you warm and that tiny corner of wood can’t store books. You wouldn’t be full from that little bit of bread or happy with that person. In the art of creating there is the act of removal and it is essential.
Stretching the metaphor further: my sewing kit includes a seam ripper, and my hammer has a claw to pry out nails. I have made decisions that looked done, looked final, and realized they were wrong (for me), so I ripped them back, pried them out, and tried again.
I CAN’T BREATHE
