I'm talking Puppies

“ Not like THAT, maaaa’! ”

Star threw her arms out with an exasperated sigh. She lifted her broken wand to eye level and gave it a sudden, vehement shake, that action alone causing a few flakes of pink glitter to float up in the air. What, with Glossaryck gone, she NEEDED someone else who had a little more experience with the wand to guide her.  (ironically, the only one capable of doing that being none other than Moon)

“ I don’t exactly have the book of spells or Glossaryck to be a butt-teacher to me anymore, and since the wand is still SOMEWHAT mine... ” cue a long breath in, Star’s arms going out to wrap around Moon’s dress with an all too familiar pleading look in her eyes. Yep, she was giving her mother the sad puppy eyes. 

        “ PLEASE TEACH HOW TO WORK THIS WAND, MAGIC THING!

“Hm? Oh it’s going okay, I guess. Things have been pretty nice recently. Nothing really major has been going on for me to be honest…” 

Jackie placed her hands in her pockets. Jackie always liked talking or hanging around Star. From all the past experiences she’s had in being in the same room with the girl, things have gone from boring to interesting in an instant. Whether its fighting off monsters on a party bus, or doing some demented version of truth or dare, Star knew how to make things exciting, even if it was by accident, and in a way she had quite a bit of respect for Star in that regard.

“How’s it been going for you?”

“ Pretty good,   pretty good.   No complaints there... ” 

Oh, God! Just being AROUND Jacky made Star INCREDIBLY comfortable. It was so obvious from the way she looked away, rubbing at her arm and puckering her lips tightly to one side as if that was her only way of securing that she wasn’t going to spill anything unwanted. “ Sooooooooooo, ah...  is that a brand new skateboard? ” She pointed a shy finger at it. Was she running out subjects to talk and asking absolutely generic questions? Yes, she was. Was she making everything unintentionally more awkward for herself? 

Marco felt bad for Star and the rest of the bounce lounge crew. Even though they went through all that effort, and got all that money, spending his 650 dollars of savings, the bounce lounge ended up closing anyways. It was a shame that the owner wouldn’t just hand the lounge over to another owner instead, but at this point there was nothing they could really do.

Except for attempting to cheer Star up. Since there wasn’t really any monsters around for her to fight, there was only one thing he could do….

A while would pass by before a knock came from the other side of Star’s door. “Star…?”

She grumbled in her pillow at the knock. It was clear as day that she wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone, especially after receiving the heavy news that might actually split the bounce lounge gang up for good this time. Nothing lasts forever, right? That felt like a hard slap to the face. She lazily scooted past the bed edge and onto her feet, shoulders still slumped as she walked over to her door to open it.
