various random headcanons/info for quinnick aka fantasy au five
-physically somewhere in his early twenties. he doesn't remember the exact age he was turned. it's been too long.
-roughly 130+, again the exact age is unknown. he died young, vampiric spawn for around 60+ years and has since been living "free"
-technically a "true" vampire (no longer a spawn, has free will etc etc) but only because he agreed to a warlock pact with his previous mistress, the countess (*coughfantasyhandlercough*). in return for her granting him free will and the power of a true vampire, he'd be pact bound to her, so never truly free from her manipulative grasp
-on the bright side, he mostly serves her as an assassin, taking down her political enemies (or luring in victims for her to consume) etc etc. instead of just. suffering for her entertainment woohoo
-was a wizards apprentice before he died. he'd been a magic prodigy as a child, he was learning from one of the most powerful wizards around (*coughfantasyreggiecough*)
-so? how did he die? to put it simply, mr wizard teacher wasnt a nice guy. so quinnick ended up running away. unfortunately the wizard tower he'd been studying at was in the middle of nowhere and he ended up eventually dying out in the wilderness oof
-so yeah his life has pretty much been pure shit since he left home to learn magic, poor fella
-usually wears all black, it's easier to hide bloodstains that way
-and will typically try and wear something with a high collar/somekind of scarf to hide the bite scar on his neck
-has rather expensive tastes, he's been living in pretty lavish places most of his existence
-has both claustrophobia and arachnophobia. both have been around since childhood, both have been worsened by trauma
-once summoned an eldritch kitten, he named her squid. because of squid he has a soft spot for cats
-very chaotic neutral and very much has a mindset of "i do what i want" simply because he had no free will for a good 60 or so years, he's very much making the most of having a will of his own, even if it is restricted still
-simulateously a pragmatist and a hedonist??? however that works?????
-may or may not have slight stockholm syndrome towards the countess because she considered him her "favorite" spawn 💀ego go brrrrrrrr
-but at the same time he's also plotting to betray her somehow
-has never heard of impulse control (jk, he has, he just ignores it. like he ignores most things telling him what or what not to do)
-rogue/warlock multiclass sort of?? assassin warlock???? magical rogue????? but was a wild magic sorceror in his youth teehee
-casts a daylight protection spell (essentially an invisible magic parasol) so he can walk out in the sun
-but yeah tldr this is a very abused chaotic vampire who hates authority but is actually just a sadboy who wants love 😔✊
