its been a bit of an old school runescape season these past 2 months for me, between the release of sailing and the new gielinor games season starting ive been consuming so much osrs content and playing it too

i wanted to draw one of (if not my favorite) mage armor looks in the game the bloodbark set, i love it so much i wish they did more colors for it

there arent "sexes" in our sense: your sex is your blood color! gender doesnt really exist as a concept either

a grubs blood color is first determined (low/mid/high) by how the mother grub is feeling/being taken care of and then further narrowed by where the grub pupates and the conditions surrounding that

theoretically, a rust blood could live for a while (like, 60 sweeps even) if they werent culled :<< most deaths on alternia ARENT natural, its just that highbloods live longer because they have less to worry about that could realistically kill them

ancestors are a myth to control the populace. in fact, our trolls are unique in the fact that they actually have ancestors! amazing!

skin gets darker with age / eyes gradually shift to blood color

horns grow throughout a trolls life. large, smooth, and healthy horns are attractive because it shows that the troll puts in the effort to take care of themself

highbloods have bioluminescense, especially pronounced in seadwellers

seadweller gills are on the sides of the torso. think like the deep has from "the boys"

purples have vestegial fins and gills; all but useless

i personally dislike g/rubscars. g/rubscars are a fandom psyop. i am anti g/rubscar and proud because having weak points on the sides of your body is stupid as fuck. (except where its necessary, like gills, which are SUPER sensitive, but i think most seadwellers are strong and scary enough to survive a partial nerf). trolls also dont have nipples or belly buttons

seadwellers and purples can flair their fins out :33 some can control this even

seadwellers have to manually breathe on land (or if theyre like eridan, manually breathe underwater). seadwellers (and some purples) are also super sensitive to salinity and pressure changes around their body

rumblespheres store nutrients like a camels humps. bigger rumblespheres are considered attractive and a sign someone is healthy

lowbloods can withstand more sunlight and are more comfortable at warmer temperatures. highbloods cant withstand the sun as much, especially seadwellers (and some purples) who can dry out. highbloods like it cold. highbloods also tend to be fatter, not only as a sign that they are healthy (which is attractive), but also to protect them from the cold and keep heat in

lowbloods are physically weaker and more prone to getting hurt physically

highbloods are more susceptible mentally and tend to be less stable than lowbloods

lowbloods eat more plants and their teeth reflect this. highbloods eat more meat and seadwellers are obligate carnivores (rust and bronze tend to eat exclusively plants in turn)

trolls grow as they age and never stop. this is why highbloods are seen as huge!

seadwellers have a version of underwater sign language that is all but a lost language
