A Little Lost

Hi all!  I just made a batch of my personal protection salt (a little unorthodox, but super easy to make)! I figured I would share the recipe on here :)  I started using protective salt years ago, after a moving away to go to college; being on campus in a city made me super nervous! To help, I managed to gather up the ingredients for this little mix that I now use constantly:

You Will Need:

1 cup Salt (I like to use flaked salt or salt crystals nowadays, but as a college student table salt worked just as well!)

½ tsp each of:

Cinnamon (healing, cleansing, psychic work, etc.)

Chamomile (protection, relaxation, sleep, etc.)

Angelica (protection, also used in exorcisms when burnt)

Anise (helps keep the nightmares away at all times :) )

Sage (protection, wisdom, healing)

Hyssop (cleansing, protection, consecration)

Just a pinch of black pepper (protective)

Light a white candle and take a few deep breaths; you can draw a circle if you’d like, but I tend to have my apartment pretty well protected/warded/etc. Enough that I won’t set up a circle for this (blasphemy, I know!)

In front of the candle, mix your salt and herbs together. Now, here is where my method differs. If you would like, create or find a protective chant or poem to say while mixing your ingredients. Personally, I tend to zone out and sing while focusing my energy into the mixing. Occasionally for half an hour sometimes! Do whatever feels comfortable for you :) 

Imagine your aura being poured into the salt and mixed in with every movement. Do you feel safe? Protected? Is there a cool, calm feeling washing over you? That usually means that you’ve made it correctly! Good job :)
