I'm sorry, can we talk about how useless the fairies in Royal Prep are??
In 'Once Upon a Princess', we don't see them actually correcting, critiquing, or even encouraging Sofia (which was what was needed more than anything, since she was new to royal life, and you'd think the fairies would have understood that) when she struggled to learn to properly pour tea and curtsy. They just shook their heads, implying she was doing it wrong. Great teaching. In fact, because Sofia was new to being a princess, you'd think Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather would have spent extra time with Sofia to help her learn.
It took James to teach her how to do these things, and she got the hang of it right away when he showed her.
And we know these fairies don't exactly spend much time on lessons either, or give the kids much of a chance to practice before ending the lesson and moving on (which was probably also part of the problem in OUaP). Because in both 'Cedric's Apprentice' (s1) and 'Substitute Cedric' (s2), when they were *cough* 'teaching' the class sorcery, they showed them how to do the spell ONCE (without even explaining how to properly pronounce the words or flick their wands), let the kids try it themselves for LESS THAN A MINUTE (without giving critique or correcting them in what they were doing wrong), then immediately ended the lesson. WTF??? (Compare this to Cedric, who actually put effort into teaching in both those episodes, even when he didn't even want to at first... and ofc, he's come so far since then!!)
And don't even get me started on how they handled Prank Day every year (or how they didn't).

I’m so glad he got anti depressants 💕
Late night random Royal Magic sketches. Nothing canon or from any future episode, just a bit of fun, loose doodles.

I'm cackling, lol.
Another moment that I really want to talk about and why so far this is like one of Cedric’s best moments in the new show so far. So before I talk about this scene, i do want to mention that we all know about Cedric’s childhood, right? About the fact that so many doubted him, mocked him, bullied him, laughed at him, and even belittling him all because he struggled with magic, and it wasn’t just his fellow classmates but also the adults… the freaking adults! The ones who were supposed to be supportive and understanding to him. Thru most of Cedric’s life since his childhood, he was always scolded, yelled at, and belittled by the adults instead of getting support whenever he made mistakes with his magic, this is what has negatively effected him since childhood all the way to adulthood during the events of the OG stf series. And cutting back to the clip that I’m sharing here, Camila apologizes to him with the fact that she didn’t listen to his instructions and admits that it was her fault that she used a very strong spell that went out of control. And I’m sure that Camila was deeply scared that he would get so mad at her but how does Cedric responds to her?………..
He doesn’t yell at her, he doesn’t get angry at her, he doesn’t scolds her, he doesn’t belittles her, he doesn’t interrupts her when she explains herself, etc. instead he just remains calm and patient and hears her out about what exactly happened. And he responds in such a gentle and kind way with her and lets her know that it’s alright and even tells her that he knows what it’s like to make mistakes with magic. Like this moment right here got me emotional too because it shows in how much he truly cares about his students. The adults in his childhood failed so badly with him where instead of helping him learn how to improve his magic, he instead got scolded, yelled and belittled. But Cedric refuses to do the same to his own students when they make mistakes. He broke the chain of the emotional abuse he went thru. Cedric knows that even though he can’t change his own past, he knows that he can still be a positive impact on the childhoods of a these children, by teaching them that making mistakes or failing at something isn’t really a bad thing but a good thing, by teaching them that failing or making mistakes helps and teaches them to learn from them, and even teaches them that they shouldn’t be ashamed when admitting mistakes. Heck, he even admits his own mistakes to Camila that he used to fail many times and also let’s her know that even though he failed a few times, he still worked hard to improve. Like it really gets me emotional because despite everything he went thru by the cruelty and mockery from his past, he makes sure that he doesn’t treat his students the way how the adults in his past treated him because he knows that in order for his students to become great in magic is by being a kind, supportive, understanding teacher to them. He lets them know that no matter what happens or what problem is going on, he wants to be there for his students because he truly cares about them. He doesn’t just care, he loves them so much that I’m pretty sure he sees them as his own kids 🥺😭
Like my gosh, this show keeps making me fall in love with Cedric more than ever! I always loved him since the og series but Royal Magic just keeps making Cedric the best character of the whole show. And his dynamic with his students is such the most cutest thing ever. Like already we have seen a bit of his dynamic with Sofia’s new friends, but I am curious to see what will his dynamic be with Devin. Like I know we already have the first 8 episodes but already I want more 😆
Same with Zane in the green-eyed monster. He could have so easily scolded or made fun of him when he didn't do the super strength potion right in class but he didn't

WHAT?? How can Royal Magic already be on hiatus???
Disney, are you purposefully trying to get Royal Magic to fail? First off, there was the extremely early premiere time, and now it's already on hiatus? You're not gonna get the audience you guys want for this show if you keep this up, just FYI.
FR, they do this shit all the time with their shows!!! 😭😡😡 WHY???
I think it probably just means there won't be any more new epsiodes coming out in July like it's "on hiatus"
And besides Sofia the first is one disney's best money makers for 2 to 6 year olds and it was number 1 on disney+ for a week
They're gonna drag out that shit out for as long as they can
Oh my god I got randomly recommended this Disney Jr post on Instagram and I just started scrolling through it because why not and on one of the pictures they called Cedric a theater kid like why are they calling him out so hard like that 😂
It's not red.... Calista
They're so cute

these sofia outfit concepts posted on instagram by phillip light are making me utterly giddy SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE A MAGICAL GIRL!!!!!!! i cant get over the aprons it reminds me of kira kira a la mode AHHHHHHHH AHHHH!!!
I finally finished all the episodes that have come out so far for Royal Magic and I gotta say hands down Camila is my favorite out of Sofia's new friends
I love that she just pops in and scares the hell out of everyone and like just impulsively tries out spells she's never done before because eh why not. And even when she does them wrong she's just so like chill about it. And her Cedric fangirling like same girl
And the best part is none of her friends think she's a bad sorceress or don't believe in her abilities and in fact they never get mad or dismiss her when the spells go wrong. Instead the focus is on the actions of the other characters who asked for her spell like Zane in the Tippty Tap Dance and Amber in Veggie Good Deed
It's so different from the way ya know Cedric was treated all his life. He could do the spells right he just messed up because he got nervous. I have no proof of this but I like to think if The Incident had never happened Cedric might have been similar to Camila. Maybe not as extroverted but like more chill with making mistakes
But no. At least he's finally respected now after 30 FUCKING YEARS
How I thought this interaction would good but I’m glad people are praising him now
I am loving it! Props to the royal magic team
love royal magic’s mlm wlw solidarity representation

Guys it's actually so cute that in the three months leading up to Royal Magic, Cedric basically got to do what he said he always wanted to in the pilot, slaying dragons and battling ogres 😭🥺
In an article by the LA Times, information about Sofia the First: Royal Magic’s main villain has been revealed.
Her name is Zandrya and is played by Eden Espinosa, known for playing Wicked’s Elphaba on Broadway, and Cassandra in Tangled: Before Ever After. She describes the character as “loud, bratty, confident and powerful.”
Creator Craig Gerber says that the character is made to have an entitled air, “as if all of the magic should just be given to her and she shouldn’t even really have to work for it.”
She is a sorceress looking for magical items to make her more powerful, but taking Sofia’s amulet will be a challenge for her due to Sofia’s confidence in her magical abilities growing. Zandrya is also a master of disguise, and takes a different form in each episode her appears in an attempt to fool Sofia and steal her amulet.
Espinosa says that despite this, she believes Zandrya may be a little misunderstood, and that some interactions with Sofia may make her question what she’s doing.
Are you fucking kicking me?! My mind is literally blown!!
And her having a pet owl?! HELLO?!?!?!
Did Craig watch TTS and see Cass’s season 3 villain arc and was like wait that’s a good idea 😅
And her being a master of disguise what if she disguises herself as Cedric and tries to take Sofia’s amulet 🫢
