Yeah, it takes a certain level of skill one wouldn’t expect out of a simple phone game… It was fun, and even now there’s a small community of people who still play it, but it’s definitely lost the surge it had over the first couple years. It was a big part of me being social, though, now that I think about it. I got into the games, sorta properly, in  college. My cousins had the games when I was younger but I wasn’t particularly allowed to play them too often, they weren’t good at sharing, and the one that actually likes me is more a FPS kinda person, so didn’t get into video games until we were older and he could convince his parents to let him play them.

Well one of them is a turtle, so I reckon I can keep ahead of them if I need to. But I’ve got a system for the rest of them. Anytime I need a lot of computer time, we all go out for an extra long run first, and they then curl up in their beds for a nap while I curl up on the couch with my laptop. It works so far, so fingers crossed.  Of course, the downside is come winter I have to spend an hour of nap time thawing myself out before my fingers can bend enough to do any typing, but that’s all the more reason for a bottomless mug of Hot Chocolate.

Puzzle games might be a good fit. I can send you a list of word based ones. On the non-game front you could try some of those colouring book apps. I’m not much of an artist, but even I’ve managed to turn out some very lovely pieces.

Haha, how crazy would it be if in the end, it's the turtle that ends up damaging your laptop? I would be the fool to see what it does and then realize what it's doing when it's already too late to stop it. Okay, this is the type of advice I need from a fellow fur-parrent. I'm clearly spoiling Lily and falling for her tricks. Writing this down and hoping it works, thanks. Though you should need an excuse for Hot Chocolate, that would definitely be the perfect one. You gotta keep those fingers warm somehow.

I like to think so. I know it was absolutely a necessary choice since my sister-in-law’s pet pig was staying with us and I found apple fragments all over my desk. The fruit, not the computer. 

It can be hilarious until you’re spending the afternoon cleaning marker off the walls or the bandaids come out, but I wouldn’t have it any other way; I’m the last person who would ever want to stifle someone’s creativity, most especially my own daughter’s. Except where safety is concerned, of course.

Whoa, your sister-in-law has a pet pig? No lie, having a pet pig sounds like it would be so much fun, but yeah, I can see why you would have that rule.

Dude are you trying to make me even more emotional than I already am I just feel sometimes I take more than I give and felt I needed to say thank you .

No, I'm just trying to make you see that people will let you take as much as they feel is needed or be able to give. It's cool that you're thanking those around you, but trust me, they do it out of love for you. You're awesome to be with.

Honestly I think Pokémon Go lost all creditability when a presidential candidate said to “Pokémon Go, go, go to the polls” a few years back. Did you get your computer fixed? They didn’t even offer you a replacement in the meantime? Which Pokémon have you caught so far?

Haha, I can't believe I forgot about that. I mean, to be fair, it just all seemed like one big joke. It was insane, but yes, I would have to agree. That and the app would just be insane, like there was always some issue with getting Pokémons and tracking your stuff. I'm actually getting it fixed next week, so I'm excited. I've been training with Lily and hoping she doesn't get too mad at me for no longer letting her run free in my game room. No, but it's cool, I didn't even know that was an option. Um, so far I've gotten Aipom, Pikachu, and my favorite, Psyduck. I have about 65 of them, but it says I've seen more. Which is sad, but it's hard to catch them. Do you play? Or what game are you playing at the moment?

I still don’t understand the hype. Though, I never got into Pokemon, so that’s possibly the reason… Like, I’ve tried it, but it’s just not my kind of game.

It's not for everyone, which is cool. I think it has to do more with being able to interact with other people and bonding over something as simple as an app game? Any games that do peak your interest?

Ouch. I do most of my writing by hand, but my draft submissions and all my research on done on my computer; I don’t know what I’d do without one. 

Though downloading a heap of apps to keep myself distracted would likely be near the top of my list. And if I didn’t already have the Pokemon Go app, that would also be near the top of my list of apps to get. Not that I’ve used it much these last few months.

Oh man, I mean I have everything backed up, but it has been a bit of a drag now that I can’t actually play. I can’t imagine how much difficult writing would be without a computer. Just keep your pets away from it, no matter how cute they are.

I’m running out of apps to download, what other suggestions do you have? It wasn’t my first choice, but it’s been the most effective one. You get to interact more with people and get some kind of work-out out of it. I’m with you on that, I didn’t really play much app games before, but I have to find a way to kill time on my break or when I’m at home.

This is why Lady is expressly forbidden from my office. The spilling water on the computer part, not the Pokemon Go part. Though I have avoided installing the app on my own phone because I’m not sure Moriah wouldn’t start chasing Lady to try to capture her in one of her balls.

That’s a smart choice, I unfortunately let Lily run free and this was the results. I guess we’re going to have to change that rule, as soon as I get my new set-up. Haha, that would be hilarious to see, but poor Lady. I forget how hilariously creative kids can be.

I played it a lot when it came out and in the years following but have more or less fallen off with it since I moved properly to NYC. It made for something interesting to do when I was new in a place and looking to find my way around. Pokemon, in general, isn’t for everyone, though.
