Hey all! 

I’ve decided that i have Too Many blogs to handle - hence the inactivity here. Due to this, i’ve decided to move bessie to my multi over at @protectxrs.

I don’t think i will be keeping any threads from here, only because i’m not really vibing with them any more. i only have myself to blame for that due to leaving replies for so long and it has nothing to do with any of my partners.

HER  RELUCTANCE  BECOMES  CURIOSITY  IN  AN  INSTANCE.               that  hesitation,  initial  and  firm  in  her  response,  flickers  away  when  the  agents  guarding  the  door  face  them  with  such  a  harsh  and  relentless  refusal.  between  ashley,  and  the  bounty  of  information  she  has  to  offer  shield,  and  bessie,  being  not  only  young,  but  also  in  possession  of  some  ground-breaking  photographs…  you’d  imagine  they’d  be  far  more  enthusiastic.  eager,  even,  to  give  them  access  to  the  elevator.  but  as  she  steps  back,  a  protective  arm  guiding  the  other  girl  back  to  the  waiting  area,  all  the  unwillingness  to  interfere  or  get  remotely  involved  with  shield  melts  away  into  a  sudden  and  powerful  need  to  see  what’s  so  valuable  in  those  vaults.               “ we  got  to  get  back  up  there. “

“you are possibly one of the most rebellious people i’ve ever met.  how do you do it, stay so calm and casual about potentially being caught trespassing by the police?” she asked.  maybe the fact that she’d done this before - and by rapunzel’s judgement, one million times - helped.  “well if it’s supposed to be an active site then i’m guessing we’re going to be in for a pretty eventful night.”  she knew this was important to bessie, so she could only hope they see something for her own sake.  rapunzel followed, feeling her nerves rise with each step toward the building, but it was followed by excitement.  “have you been here before?”

“trust me.  nothing happens unless i allow it, and i’m not going to allow anything to hurt you,” bailey assured.  although she knew it wasn’t a promise that could be kept, she was truthful in saying she did everything she could to prevent things from hurting others, especially her friends.  “it doesn’t matter, so long as we stick together.”

“what can i say?  it’s a gift!” she mused with a lighthearted laugh.  though, it was difficult to find any ingredient that would allow her to actually make something that’s sweet, tasty, and edible.  “i think i should add this to my resume.”

“trust me, bessie…i’m working on it.” she was good at picking locks, she’d always been good at picking locks — she’d learnt from her father, and improved as she grew as a seasoned field agent. yet somehow, the damn thing hadn’t budged. she considers, for a moment, kicking the door, but its solid metal, she’ll only end up injuring herself, and she isn’t that stupid. shooting the lock wouldn’t do much good either, which means they’re back to square one. casey’s likely working on it from the other side, too, but given that he’d literally admitted while under the effects of truth serum that she was better at picking locks than he is, there’s not much he can do, short of calling an extraction team, which seems a little excessive. “we’re going to get out of here.” somehow.

     𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 , 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 — 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓.     “     it’s okay , it’s OKAY.     ”     hands stretched out in FRONT of her , a mirror image of the young woman CURRENTLY illuminating the room , barely seen shadows CARVING across the walls as her limbs trembling.    

“     don’t fight it , don’t try to CONTROL it.     ”     her own eyes flutter shut , hiding kind umbers from the WORLD as the knowing quivers beneath pale skin.     (     it doesn’t feel hostile … but it doesn’t feel INNOCENT either      )    

wide  gaze  meets  that  of  the  other  woman  as  she  speaks,  brows  furrowing  with  a  frown.  don’t  fight  it  ?  that  doesn’t  seem  like  the  right  advice.  she  didn’t  want  to  hurt  anyone,  though  she  wasn’t  sure  that’s  what  would  happen.  swallowing  hard,  deciding  to  take  their  advice.  maybe  they  knew  what  was  going  on,  knew  what  was  happening  to  her.  “  are  you  sure  ?  i  don’t  --  i  don’t  want  to  hurt  anyone.  ” 

there’d never been anything ‘productive’ about pain or anger, in sarah’s experience. sometimes she’d beat it out into a punching bag, but more often than not, she’d simply bottle it up, and pretend like it didn’t exist in the first place. whereas bessie wasn’t necessarily doing things in the best way, didn’t necessarily have the best method, it was far healthier than that of a spy. pinning all of her hope on the supernatural wasn’t necessarily smart, but at least she allowed herself to feel things. 

“it isn’t my job to tell you what to do with your anger, bessie. it’s my job to keep you safe, and that’s what i intend to keep doing.” she’d have to try and be a little more understanding, she knew that much, but protecting bessie remained her number one priority. nothing else mattered nearly as much. it would likely still be difficult, trying to contend with all of her beliefs, while they attempted to use the intersect for what it was made for…but she’d try and work around it, work with her. it wasn’t fair to keep acting as if it was all some huge burden, when it was the way she was dealing with her pain. “i’m sorry.”

a  deep  breath  is  released,  eyes  closing  for  just  a  moment  so  as  to  gather  herself  and  her  emotions.  fingers  slowly  uncurl  from  their  position  at  her  sides.  “  right.  you’re  here  to  protect  the  computer.  ”  one  finger  lifts  to  lightly  tap  her  own  temple,  turning  her  gaze  away  from  sarah.  

“bessie…” sarah lets out a sigh. she’s worked for the government for long enough to know that anywhere that seems ‘abandoned’ isn’t always as it appears to be — not because of the supernatural, but because of people using such places as a base for things they really shouldn’t be doing. how many abandoned warehouses have housed bombs, have been the epicentres for crime rings, have been used in the plots of bad guys she’s apprehended over the years? nothing is ever that simple. “i don’t think you’re stupid, i just think you need to be more careful. if you can find this place, so can anybody else. you’re a valuable asset, we can’t afford for anything to happen to you.”
